No offense, but there were plenty of people who called bullshit on the whole thing from day one. Anyone intimately familiar with the VG situation, Brad's addictions, or even just the last part of his EQ1 tenure were sounding red flags at the get go. A lot of people just let their heart cloud their judgment in the hopes of reclaiming some past nostalgia. I know in my personal case, the only part of this entire situation that surprises me is how far down the hole Brad has fallen and yet people are still throwing him a lifeline.
I doubt Brad single handedly wrecked the entire genre. The stale nature of the last half decade of fantasy MMOs has done most of that. But he probably has done a lot of harm to future crowd funded projects in this arena, by preying on the weak minded. This would not bother me if he were not still out dirt biking on his expensive rare bike while dipping into the till for this game. For all of Schilling's faults and mistakes, he was actually trying to produce something and not trying to rip people off. Brad deserves every ounce of public humiliation that he is getting right now.
