Hm I wonder if that means they did secure some VC. If this is just vaporware and smoke and mirrors you'd think they'd try anything to get money here and now and offer any set of features to get it. Removing a feature like lifetime sub counters that completely.

It does show some foresight, in that they're thinking about a world where the game is actually live.
I think it also shows that they know that if the 20 people that play it all bought the lifetime sub, they'd have a hard time keeping servers on, heh.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I can't think of a reason why they would remove the lifetime sub option right now unless VC was a very real possibility and this was maybe a contingency of that funding.

I think so, but emphasis on "some VC" - you have to assume the pledge shop will be back: just without the lifetime/unlimited sub premium.

I have no issue with Joppa. He's doing what he can with the hand he's being dealt and taking the oppertunity to take a run at making games. It's hard not to question anyone who aligns themselves with Brad at this point...just because he has such a shady past. Like I said before, in a perfect world, Brad would right his wrong and make this work. It's been better but almost by default.. Brad has went through so many team members at this point.. There has been so much various drama attached to each wave. It's pretty crazy if you think about.
Speaking of team members.. Where has kyn been? I saw a new community manager get promoted.. Figured that would have been a position he was hoping for. He wanted it way back when.
