The showing of the same zone ad nauseam is a little concerning. This game at its current pace won't be released until 2021 or later. I really wish another studio would swoop in and buy out their company and take this project under their umbrella. I think with the right amount of funding and personnel, this game could be really exciting. Unfortunately, with only their skeleton crew working on the project, I see this game releasing in much the same state as Vanguard was released in.

Agree that I'm burned out on seeing Black Rose Keep, but the focus of the team to this point in time has not been world building, they stated as much. They've spent a lot of time this summer trying to get all the classes in the game and functioning, they do have a large selection of classes, most with unique abilities and playstyles. So, if Joppa's statement that all 12 classes will be in this fall's Pre Alpha 4 and functional up to max level, that *should* open the door to focusing on world building moving into next year. Regardless, I agree they are extremely slow with development and this looks like a Christmas 2020 release in a best case scenario.

This stream from last night seems to show they finally got /assist and encumbrance into the game. Baby steps.

I've been saying this shit for months now. It's the same damn dungeon over and over.

Vanguard had Microsoft behind them AND Sony near the end. This group of misfits has nothing but hopes and dreams.

More slip and slide of what looks like terrible FPS. The game looks like it's running on sludge visually.

It took them all summer to copy EverQuest's design?

That's the advantage of not having a publisher to answer to, right? :emoji_thumbsup:

You can ignore all those pesky milestones, deliverables, targets, and schedules and take as long as you want.

Staying in "development mode" is their only way to get income. No one is paying a subscription to play this abomination; their only option is to live off donations from whales who believe it's gonna rock.

Honestly, I see nothing wrong with copying EQ's classes. That's still the benchmark for all MMO's. Of all the things to gripe about with this game, that's the least worrisome.
Nobody is griping about copying EQ's classes. People are griping about how long it takes them to fucking do it. Especially when you have one of the originators of the game supposedly helping you.

I'm still scratching my head at how Brad is staying solvent, even after the "loan", LOL. I'd would assume that he had a ton of money stashed, but if that was the case then he wouldn't have had to 'borrow' money from the KS in the first place. Is the wife keeping them afloat, or is Brad working a different 9-5 somewhere?

I know people who religiously check for Pantheon updates and status. Meanwhile we've all moved on to BFA there are those who are still trying to reject WoW's product while remaining interested in an MMO. Denial ain't just a river in Egypt boys.

WoW has it's own issues. Every time an expansion comes out everyone hoots and hollers about it and then 4 months later people complain about the same shit over and over. The cycle has been the same the last 4 expansions.

I haven't played WoW in so long, I wouldn't even know where to begin. I'm starting to lean towards the camp that believes this genre is just dead. No one seems to know how to make MMO's fun anymore, and if a MMO comes along that is fun, the devs usually find a way to remove said fun from the game in order to try and balance it. I think the entry point dollar wise in order to get a MMO even off the ground is its biggest hurdle, as it's almost impossible to get a game out that actually looks good and runs smoothly without a very hefty price tag. I'll hold out hope that some day a company might give a young group of devs with fresh ideas a shot at making another EQ like game, but that well may be all dried up.
