What a world we live in when you think lying about something and then doubling down on the lie is some type of "own".

You can deny Sox getting his digs in all you want. I'm operating without bias here and have scored you yours.

You're still denying this game will launch. Check the sig.

Lumberyard was a failure. URE5 is a better product until the game-breaking glitches somewhere down the line. It's VHS vs. Beta Max all over. VHS won the battle because of the porn industry's endorsement. Beta Max was a far superior product. Look it up. True Believers. It's hard to say it doesn't work with facts so prove me wrong you candy mofos.

To clarify the statement, there is a license fee for the game in every country, and the bill totals all together 30 million dollars for the first year. You can't choose to skip countries either.

Betamax didn’t lose due to porn. VHS won as it was a lot fucking cheaper, you could buy a vhs for 499 or a 799 Betamax in 1982 or something (
don’t forget how expensive A/V equipment was back then). The price difference was pretty considerable.

All the screens were shit, so pixels, colour and sound quality meant absolutely fuck all to the average family. Shit, most of the time it was recording terrestrial tv signals that could be so bad half the fucking recording was static.

Porn studios pushed VHS harder and dumb people turned that into "VHS won because of porn"

People who actually know what they're talking about know that it was Sony's stupidity, hubris, and greed that killed Betamax

What was the best game that unity has made in the past as an MMO? They said earlier that another was interested in their mod for the network work stack known as Vinyl. Which game company was stupid enough to use Unity when you can use URE5?

Beta max was a far superior looking product than VHS, yes more expensive but some people would think the quality was better. Same thinng with NEO GEO and the other game systems.

Do you even realize what you are writing? You wrote "was a far superior looking product", followed with "but some people would think the quality was better." What is it then? Was it, or was it only for some people?

You have probably never seen the three old home video systems of the 70s side by side. Yes, there were three. Beta had 250 lines horizontal resolution, while VHS had 240. Essentially, you are still swallowing Sony marketing after all those years.

What killed Beta was not only the price, but also the stubbornness of Sony to have an initial monopoly on the machines, and to launch the system with smaller cassettes, which came from their professional Umatic system. This resulted in L-500, and L-750 tapes, which could only record 1 hour or 1:30h. So you couldn't even tape a whole movie broadcast in 2 hours (with commercials) to watch it later. VHS on the other was not only cheaper, but also started with 2 hour cassettes.

Boiled down, the Betamax failure is just "Not realizing what your target demographic wants 101"

Same thinng with NEO GEO and the other game systems.
Neo Geo was never good. The market simply moved on without SNK from 2D to 3D games. Capcom was another arcade company that was initially steamrolled by the move from 2D to 3D. And ironically, they also tried the "sell the arcade games to hardcore enthusiasts" with their "Capcom Power System Changer." Which you could already do by buying a JAMMA-compatible SuperGun, it was just really fucking expensive.

Meanwhile, other arcade manufacturers consolidated their hardware and moved from custom high end chips to more console-like hardware. For example Sega with their NAOMI boards, which were based on the Dreamcast, or their cooperation with Nintendo and NAMCO for the Triforce boards (based on Gamecube).

The only other MMO that is in dev "supposedly" I've heard using Unity is Chronicles of Elyria...

Doesn't matter sense there both vapor ware as far as I'm concerned...

And also if that network stack is so "revolutionary" they should be selling licensing rights too it... obviously they have fucking nothing sense they are still crying for funding almost 10 years later. What little they have shown of it.. It's not that impressive..

The funny thing is , when they started everyone knew networking had to be built. So it’s like not a new problem . it’s always been the problem

Elyria is a scam, I saw a KiraTV video on it.

They let all of the devs go and the lead guy is trying to sell alpha access to a "Kingdoms of Elyria" RTS to fund it, which is just basic unity assets and next to no code. So all that is left is apparently people LARPing on discort with the in game titles they bought.

I want to know if any MMOs have ever launched from Kickstarter and what state they are in.

So it's just like Pan'theon!
It's far worse if you can belive it.

Pathfinder made a Kickstarter MMO that actually launched. And it shut down already.
Yeah I don't think Pathfinder is a big enough IP but will be interesting to see what went wrong.

You need a massive IP or to do something truly innovative... then actualy be a competent and fun game.

I don't have hope for anything other than the Riot MMO or a Final Fantasy 17.
