Its a fan made very early prototype of a game, handful of races, handful of zones, handful of "content". Its not a game yet and its about 3 years too early for an early access launch, this was done solely for funding.
If 50 random posters on this board made a tech demo using pre-built world building tools and purchased art assets and threw it up on the internet this is the "game" you would get.
That is to say, you could say it was built with love or dedication from people who enjoy playing games like everquest but they really don't know what they are doing tbh.
The term "professional" would not appear anywhere in the vicinity of this, no single person with any experience making video games is involved here.

Is there a map resource? I can only find maps for the first zone. A world map, at least?

People raged against maps because they associate them with stuff like planes of power eq or world of warcraft. A good game should have a general in game map with a mostly topographical look and major landmarks, to help people orient and add to immersion. You dont need to have every fucking thing on it. Maybe in a starting area - sure, yes, you do put npcs on it that are like "new player resource npc here" but not beyond. Instead, the backlash to overly mapped (and therefore overly railroaded and closed) is to ditch maps entirely, which is shitty.

EQ didnt not have a map, to not "have maps" - it was meant that the /people playing/ the game would have / make the map and not /the game/ giving you the map.
But in the same light, maps have been a thing forever so like, you should be able to get one somewhere "within the world" for generally known areas... the wild lands and unknown caves etc- yeah no map
