You’re on a 25 year old gay elf forum.

You are not the typical gamer. You are a poopsocker.

Most people play less than 10h weekly. And most of them only play for a few weeks.

Hell, I’d bet good money that 10% of those purchases didn’t even play 10 hours total.
Haven't played in a couple of months. Gave them a bunch of money a while back for alpha access. Really like the game but don't want to get to invested in toons that will probably be wiped. And don't want to get burned out on a game that still has a lot of work left to be done. But love where they are going and looking forward to more.

Also very invested in playing Throne and Liberty atm. That's a job in itself.

Let them work, give your feedback

Everyone saying they need to copy retail WoW and QoL everything into face roll status should just go to retail WoW and tell us how streamlined, finished, "not janky" and how generally great everything is

I haven’t touched it in weeks. Logged in the other day to see if Druid had released and then logged back off.

I enjoyed the game when I played it but couldn’t commit the time to unbroken 3-4 hour group sessions so trailed well behind you guys. I have to be honest and say no class particularly wowed me either. I was disappointed with Necro in particular but using EQ as a metric I realise I definitely shouldn’t gauge a class by its early levels.

I’ll drop in again to see what Druid and Bard turn out like though and will probably play it in small bursts when it eventually releases.

Anyone else skeptical of this number? For a game like this to do 100k in sales I would expect more players at any given time?
I think it's very accurate. You can usually multiply the number of reviews by 33 to get an approximate value for total units sold. Of course this varies by title, but it's close enough.

I wonder if VR will figure out that soliciting advice from the WoW/ezEmu/TLP crowd is asking to be griefed and nothing else

They're going to turn your precious baby into a monster and all you'll be able to do is weep for what was and could have been!

My thought on FD is maybe some mobs all individually check or others require just a check on the initial mob.

If sneak needs to be a part of it, get that back in too. Positional soft stealth is awesome and a skill check.

I think it just needs to be a pass or fail, once. Last I played with a monk was the early 20's and theyre just glorified DPS even at that level. I say this because if they try to split a camp, if they fail (and with the way it does a check on everything, probably means its a high chance of failing) - they either die pretty quickly, or the come running back with 3-4 in tow and then the healer has to sperg out trying to heal the Monk while the tank and enchanter try to peel/mez. Versus just letting the tank, which can get some rather good gear (Stuff from Hangor's etc.) and just tank all 4 of them without too much effort.

I like the idea of positional soft stealth, though. Shouldnt be able to stand on the mob completely invis while "stealthed." But iirc, this has layers to it. Like they can smell you or hear you, even if you're invis. Most of how they thought about detection in this game has been pretty cool imo.

I'll happily play this game in the future because the bare bones is has now are pretty good already. I just hope it isnt 2030 by the time it gets close to that point.

FFXI did stealth well. Mobs could detect you from a combination of sight, sound, and smell. Undead would aggro you if your health went under a certain level as well even if you were stealthed.

The whole idea of playing possum to split camps is a forced relic of eq that isn't necessarily good or useful. Eq didnt even intend for it, fd was meant to drop agro or avoid death, but it worked for pulling and so it got rolled with. Trying to MAKE it a thing in some other game? Meh. If you want monks to be pullers, there are tools they can be given... monks, bards, and rangers had plenty of gimmicks tossed at them over eq's lifespan that could work fine in any mmo setting without trying to shovel specifically flopping in.

For those of us who played a fd class while leveling and in top tier raiding, it was a glorious mechanic, unintended or not. It allowed for tactical play and deep crawls in to dungeons with smaller parties and raids. The "smash and bash everything alive" mechanic that most games use is boring. No game has ever come close to repeating the fd experience and it kept me playing EQ long past it's expiration date.

We need more games with mechanics that require a little more effort from the devs to accommodate, not less. We already have 5 billion WoW clones that suck. Don't need another one.

FD pulling was definitely "glorious" and an unmatched experience in gaming history. It's also the defining characteristic on if a game is a wow clone or not. We also know EQ is the pinnacle of complexity

Thank you for taking up the Sox mantle

Druid is now 17. In between assembling new furniture and rearranging my condo I got to learn WE intimately. Neat zone. Not as well fleshed out as TF, but serviceable. No one likes being there, so you can find plenty of things to murderhobo your way through life.

This opinion is super strange to me. 99% of my EQ pulling was just done with pacify or similar skills. Fd wasted so much time.

Pulling wasnt designed with fd in mind (until later) and as a result, fd was cool and interesting as it went outside the box. If you design a game with fd in mind its just some shitty gimmick.
