Yeah, but on a day where you get a contribution for the highest tier, it damn well better beat the day before it or that's some bad news. Still a lot of day left, though.
You make a good point, but your right, there is a lot of time left. I do believe there will be some down days for sure, where it barely moves, but its def possible for them to pick it up the next day, or next couple days, etc.

Let's not play dumb here. There is a major difference between giving criticism to help, and just giving criticism for the sake of giving it (especially when its almost always in a negative tone...know what I'm saying?). So you don't want it to fail, that's great. Perhaps list out on what they can improve upon without sounding like a troll in the process. That's just my 2 cents. (I realize you could give a shit less what I think, and I respect that).
Like I said, reread my post history in this thread (Left click my name and click "View Forum Posts" if you don't know how). I've given my ideas of what they need to improve, not always negative. They haven't responded, or acted upon any of it that I can tell, not that I expect them to, I'm no one special.

Everything about this KS feels disjointed. It's like they have great ideas but no real plan in place... just random stuff being thrown around. Brad needs to get that project manager on board sooner rather then later and then take a step back so he can concentrate on game design.

The Pathfinder Online mmo in development by Goblinworks is a similar styled project that I think had a couple of successful kickstarters (one for a prototype and another for the actual game) and that KS was managed pretty well. I think it even uses the Unity engine like this project but with a seamless world. VR might have benefited with this two-pronged approach. An initial $250,000 prototype KS to measure interest and show investors followed by a $1,000,000 KS for the actual game.

Sorry, I'm late to the party. I'm in for some cash - if only because I will enjoy the forum drama over the next few years. Also, Brad crushed my dreams with Vanguard and I want to see if he can deliver! This could turn it around!

That's alright, I'll take your word for it. Yeah I believe they are trying to work with the media right now on getting some more info about the game out there atm. Last I heard, they were doing another interview for pc gamer. I do think it will ultimately help though with more information about the game itself is revealed, because I can understand the skepticism. Hopefully, (speaking from someone who wants too see the game funded), once more about the game is known, more people will hop on board. If it's still not for them, then that's fine, at least they will have heard about it.

I don't actively dislike EQ2 like a lot of people. I basically missed out on it in its entirety because a few things pissed me off enough to go back to EQ1, but I do regret not playing shit like Rise of Kunark at launch (I ran through it many, many years after the fact).
Yea that was a ton of fun. Very well done.

I do feel bad for all the guys who played EQ2 instead of WoW from 2004-2006.
ha I agree. Vanilla WoW was a lot of fun. I think what I enjoyed most about was all the new people to MMOs. It was so much fun being there in a guild and just teaching them basic shit like an assist key.

Yeah, who is running the KS page? Needs a slap of reality. It's not a bad start for a dungeon - but instead of that shot they should have shown a series of shots showing the dungeon being designed from the beginning and then end with the final meandering form of the dungeon.

Basic marketing/presentation.
I'd prefer a couple of days without updates to what they're doing: throwing up whatever they can come up with for the day and hoping some of it sticks.

At least the dungeon entrance is already as big as a complete McDungeon so I guess there's that.

Ut certainly wasn't the only one bashing VG. Pretty much anyone who played beta (other than the Silky Venom fellatio crew), or anyone who was getting tired of Everquest's model and realized the potential for instancing and other conveniences to eliminate a whole shitload of frustrating problems and didn't want to see a repeat of the same mistakes that caused so much pain over the years. Racing for content is only fun if you are the winner. How long is everyone else going to stick around? And if the competition is what you enjoyed, what is left once you have won? For FoH, the "competition" was just twats that would sometimes take up key camps for shit they weren't likely to see until the next expansion rolled around and we moved on. Such drama! Shit was like watching the Yankees play the special olympic t-ball team. They didn't have a chance of winning and all they could accomplish was wasting our time. Beating these people down didn't make me happy or make me feel like some kind of badass, it just bored me to death waiting for them to hurry up and wipe so we could waltz in and take the loot.

That's all crap that never needs to happen again. Players should not be forced to be enemies. Unless they are actually capable of killing one another (FFA PVP server for the aspies) or in a limited fashion (Kazzak)

Of course every word of this contradicts nearly every post in this thread. Because the aspie sociopaths who only enjoy games if they are griefing others just want a new game to feel superior in. Likely because the first time around, they were the ones getting shit on by a guild like mine.
Honestly when I fell in love with EQ I was hardcore casual (i.e. a complete newbie who still played a metric fuckton). I didn't give a shit about guilds like yours (I played on the nameless we had Legacy of Steel not FoH but whatevs) outside of being like "wow look at that fucking sword that dude has that is pretty awesome, I wonder where the hell that came from" sorts of things. I was never in a big guild, never raided any content when it was really relevant, and outside of the drama at the top end being hilarious to read about I didn't care fuck all about who was on top. That said I liked that the game had celebrities at the top and noobs at the bottom. It made it feel more like a real world with winners and losers.

I certainly wanted all of the cool shiny things the raiding folks had but not enough to devote that sort of patience and effort to my EQ time. I'm not one of those faggots who is all OMG YOU ONLY HAVE STUFF BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO LIFE. I probably played just as much as those guys. The thing is I could log on whenever I wanted and fuck off as much as I wanted and not have to worry about being anywhere or doing anything. I would say the vast majority of players I encountered were like me. At least the ones I played with regularly. You wouldn't know it now playing on p1999 or some other emulator where the raid drama is off the fucking charts. You certainly wouldn't know it just from reading forums.

EQ wasn't great because I wanted to rub my accomplishments in the faces of others. It was great because the social aspect of being a complete tool to other players was just part of a huge multifaceted environment that as a whole felt more alive and like more of a community than WoW or any other game since has. *shrug*

This. Also Khane and others have said it.

They are doing more harm than good with an update as thrown together as this. Good lord , some site like Massively is going to post a blurb that Pantheon has updated it's KS , folks will click on it , and it will do nothing but give the haters more fodder and the backers duck in shame. That's a terrible update. The KS still appears like it's not even to napkin drawing level of planning. Think before shit gets put up , from the "SLASH" picture being not the best foot forward to a thrown together update like this , it's painful.

Still supporting the KS and Brad , but I have to call it like I see it on this sort of stuff.

This is what I don't get, they say they've been working on this since September, but everything we've seen looks like it's what they came up with 2 weeks ago. Doesn't instill a whole lot of confidence, especially when your asking money from people.

How many of these guys can afford to hang around for a few months without a job hoping that their second round goes better?
with all the cuts at trion and sony for the guys onthe team, im sure their unemployment checks will keep coming for a good while. I mean, a full time job is alot better, but its not like they dont have any income incoming.

Sigh, I hope I'm wrong on this , but just glanced over the KS comments on the update itself and the general thread. It's turned into full Vanguard closed beta forum cheerleading. I get it's supporters , I'm one of them and yes you should be positive but honest too. We are trying to help.

Good Stuff , looks awesome.

LOOKS AMAZING......

and so on.

If the devs start living in that bubble ,the thing's doomed already.

Comment from Machail onProject Pantheon:

"Just the beginning! Lore week starts tomorrow, and there's tons planned. Really can't wait. Just a few more hours before some real goodies on Nexus coming up. We're going to tell you a bit about who she is, and put some of the pre-kickstarter tweets into context."

I'm guessing the pre-Kickstarter tweets are directly referring to her lore from the official Twitter account.

Well, again, it goes back to what I said on there. I think you have to be realistic, they are doing kickstarter for a reason. They have a small team. That small team of like 10 can only work on so much at once. They don't even have a studio yet. People aren't used to looking at those pre-alpha shots of things, but that's how things look in that stage, its a concept more than anything else. All they are going to have in this kickstarter is concepts of things...which again, is why they are doing kickstarter in the first place. They need the funds to get a studio, hire a bigger team, and possibly get the backing of a big publisher.
