The class description itself isn't really all that terrible. The problem is, typically you have a small blurb as such about a class and then you have at least a small list of skills and explanations following it. I'm not an expert at all on KS but on other games I've followed (traditionally funded games that is) you usually don't see a class reveal until they've at least got a working version of it with a basic skillset ironed out, and those skills are part of the reveal.

If this fails (even if it doesn't, I think they should do this anyways, but whatever): Go dark, get jobs, make this a project of passion until you have some zones fleshed out, some models beyond placeholders, some rudimentary game systems in place to show and explain. Ya know, solid foundation of the actual game. Relaunch Kickstarter with funding actually set to the REAL funding level (not "funding to try to get more VC that may or may not happen). Then if the KS fails? The market isn't there for it.

Why a "Dark Knight" ? Could they not come up with anything better. No offense but in our pop culture, that name just doesn't hold much water. It just seems like a rip-off or overly generic.

Yeah , I was about to point that out.And the ks comments section just are in awe of this highly unsuspected reveal.
The KS comments has gone full blown stupid. Makes the fanboyism some of show at times here because of us wanting a game like EQ/VG and thus having a little hope in Brad look like hatred in comparison.
Also any dissent is now piled on by a usual crew over there immediatel,y then piled on by whoever happens to be reading atm.

I think the problem is there's not even a minor early level possible spell/ability list , or a sketch of said Batman and his pet , combined with trickling it out.
He's basically telling us clerics and warriors and shadowknights are in and making it seem like news and stretching it out far more than he should for basic shit like this.

The real troubling thing is that nobody at VR recognized this when naming the class, or if they did, their concerns weren't heard.
I mean, the first thing I would have said when I heard 'The Dark Knight' class name would have been, 'you know that's a fucking Batman movie made in the last 5 years, right?'

I'm getting close to the fence now. I'm overlooking a lot because I think they have some great foundational ideas but some of this stuff is getting annoying.
Dark Knight is a truly horrible class name. Are people still defending this shit? If a 15 year old launched a MMO kickstarter it would be indistinguishable from some of the shit Brad is coming up with
