Perhaps the devs that Brad has teamed with don't understand how to use the word "no" and phrases like "that idea is terrible". Brad is a bright guy with a good vision for games, but he needs to have some reality-minded hard heads around to balance him out.

All speculation, of course, and through this clown show a great game could emerge. Not too late to nip this stuff in the bud and go on a decent Kickstarter re-write marketing blitz.

my problem with the name isn't the name itself but it serves as a window into considerations taken or lack thereof which can be an indicator for other game elements

Jesus H Christ , it's the judgement over picking the name and using it to sell your Kickstarter. I lowered/pulled my pledge because they continue to show poor judgement.Not this one fucking name.

It isn't speculation at all. It's exactly why he isn't a good business man and blasts budgets. He needs to be controlled.

It seems like they are doing a text book ad campaign. Restricting information in order to get articles in bigger publications out and get more eyes on. But those kinds of campaigns have a lot of faulty aspects for fund solicitation--the biggest being that they don't have a product which can be researched by those fresh eyes. Those people who get drawn to the KS from PCgamer will come and see some guy they don't know, pitching a dream they don't care about and then fuck right off and never look back =-/.

KS is about word of mouth and social media, because when information is provided from a personal source it has a massively different amount of trust/faith (Whatever) attached to it. And since that's really what a KS is selling, the trust in afutureproduct, that's what a KS needs to instill (The trust that this will be something you want). That's why successful Kickstarters produce so much information, and heavily rely on social media, and name recognition and social connections within the KS community--because you're not selling a product, you're selling your ability tocreate one. Having a knowledgeable core market, who can use that knowledge to convince others? Is essential. This is why Kickstarters put their cards on the table rather quickly.

Mark Jacobs seems like a great guy. My only problem with him is that he has successfully produced two exceptionally well running and functional but HORRIBLY bland games. Maybe this round he'll pick up someone with a bit of creativity and vision and do better. Who knows, maybe it was the money folks that made those games so dull.

This has been so entertaining. The amount of people that are suddenly walking into the glorious day light realizing that this will be an utter failure on this forum just makes me chuckle. It amazes me how blind faith can truly make a person gullible. I am surprised that a new religion was not started called " The Brad : The New Testament".

OMG he made the first EQ!! All bow down and throw money at this person. He IS the MMO!!!!

1 week later..... " The fuck !!! he has no vision. There is nothing there but generalizations. It was devil speak I say. He is the second coming of the anti Christ!!!
