Not only did I buy Vanguard, I also bought a 1900X so I could experience the latest cutting edge graphics in silky 60fps. Instead I got Vanguard.

The framerate was always pretty good, standing still. If you moved though it had to load new stuff and then get ready for a few seconds of hitch.

It was such a shame, having to stop every few hundred yards in game and doing a 360 with your character to load up the graphics so you could continue running and pretend your graphics card with cutting edge.

I loved vangaurd, I really did. Great game ruined by Silius baby-fying it and technical issues. Pantheon WILL rok though.

Anyone else seeing a terrible frame rate / lag going on here? The graphics are shit which tells me something is wrong with the game.

At least you should be able to play Pantheon's graphics with the same card in chunky 22fps glory. Nostalgia!! Some investments just take longer to pay off....

I have to admit to being extremely fond of Vanguard for a lot of reasons, but I also understand the reality that it was garbage. I wish it had been a better game, for all those who enjoyed what was there to enjoy, and if it had been much better, for what it could have done to change how the industry approaches MMO's. It's legacy (other than drug fueled parking lot firings) will hopefully be that it's few good ideas, get remade into a game that is worth a shit.

First there's no proof that having a SSD fixed all frame-rate problems for everyone. Secondly, most people didn't want to spend over $1000 just on the HD to be able to play Vanguard at anything close to normal fps. It's never a good selling point to say, "You can somewhat play our game with a 3k system. Ignore all the other issues though. Buy now!"

I had no issues with Vanguard performance. It was truly random on what machines it could run smooth on for some reason. Same hardware in every way and it wouldn’t run smooth on one but it would on the other.
