Lol, where do I sign up?Aradune don't worry, if this doesn't work out you guys can do a prequel instead. Pantheon: Fall of the Fallen.
I always felt that the noob armor quests they added when they did the character model "upgrades" were terrible. They really ruined the early game IMO. Now the SolRo armor quests were fantastic. Noobs should have to scrounge for rags and rusty weapons. One thing I do miss and hope to see is the noob armor quest.. I loved the one EQ for my wizard.
Probably as equally as successful just in a completely different field.Regarding Furor, someone who knows him from EQ should mail him asking for a plegde/a little support, where would he be without EQ?
Oh, and thanks for the nice avatar!
There should not be any weapons, armor acquired from questing until at least level 20 (in EQ terms). It certainly did dilute the early newbie experience.I always felt that the noob armor quests they added when they did the character model "upgrades" were terrible. Totally agree, 100%, make this a rule.Anyone who signed up later than 2012 shouldn't be allowed to post in this thread.
Take another look at your join date there Bru, anyway I think anyone who hasn't played EQ during the classic through SOV era shouldn't be allowed to post here...Totally agree, 100%, make this a rule.
Good, contact your uberbrethren and have them commit funds. Didn't you post on fohguild? I swear there was a sunspots there too...I can post here, I was in an uberguild back when we said uber a lot lol.
So closeAnyone who signed up later than 2012 shouldn't be allowed to post in this thread.
The big things that made EQ take a time commitment in EQ were:I don't think anyone wants all of EQ's time intensity back. WoW made some good changes to the industry, the problem is that many of the changes seemed to become forces of nature and went entirely too far, eventually causing problems of their own. I don't think it would be productive for Brad or the designers here to say "everything that's happened in terms of time investment reduction since 99 has been terrible"--in fact, it would be as unproductive as the recent MMO genre throwing every old "hardcore" system under the bus in the rush to make everything more time accessible.
I was being tongue-in-cheek because his suggestion was pants-on-head retarded.Take another look at your join date there Bru, anyway I think anyone who hasn't played EQ during the classic through SOV era shouldn't be allowed to post here...
The problem with Gaf hype is if they don't already have Gaf accounts, it's not the kind of site you just sign up for and get instant access. That said, EvilLore has definitely rushed through access for devs before when they wanted to talk about their game or whatever, often just takes a PM or a post saying "Hey, Lore, Brad read your criticism and is trying to get an account named XXX here so he can directly address questions and concerns like that if you're interested" or something along those lines.Yes thats why they need to get Noel, or Brad or Dan onto those sites and explain wht Pantheon is a great idea!
They need to sell it hard. Tell them why were trying to get back to a social experience. Tell them why risk vs reward is important.
It`s much more news worthy if a member of the team gets out there and does this.
Get on reddit and get people talking ect.
You're in luck. Go back 3-4 pages and say hi to that other LoS guy in this threadSadly, I haven't run into any Legacy of Steel members in like 3 years. I think this game can succeed though, and honestly, how better to do that than a kick starter. If people truly want what they have been asking for since World of Warcraft took over, Brad's the guy to do it. Still, our aging group of ex-ubers is getting old and tired and probably given up on that old era. Vanguard was the best chance and if it died of anything, it was hubris. We have to stop pretending anyone other than us want this, and build it ourselves.
