I don't think so. Smed really is the worst, he should have been fired over the swg fiasco.

It makes sense to the theorists for them to shutdown VG especially with Pantheon on the horizon. Kind of makes you wonder what's going on. Is Smed trying to get in on the action or is he planning on buying some MMO's up. (Thought I heard their financial resources are currently tied up.)

If it's an SWG successor like he talking about it got to be sandbox, no levels, no set class, no set factions, have the best crafting system ever made, have community interdependence, have non combat professions so if you fuck off your entire time playing without killing shit you can, player made economy, 99% of everything in the world is player made with crafters making the best shit(exception is legendaries which were restricted to 7 to 10 per server) with high level mats droping off high level mobs that are always contested. convice Raph to come out of retirement with his blog...In short one the best MMO design wise ever made ie it was a World not a game or themepark loot fucking pinata we get now

You guys are over thinking. Sony is losing money. They just shutdown an entire subdivision and fired everyone incuding the President of that sub division. Most likely SOE gets absorbed by SCEA and everything not also on the PS4 gets shut including EQ/EQ2 by end of this year. Bye bye Smed. EQNext should be good, so no worries.

This is basically what I heard also as SMED has been able to cover his lost gambles with SONY Pictures money which SOE is under. With SONY bleeding dough they start looking for the why...

Shovels > Bats. The metal of a shovel is far more durable whereas bats can easily break near the narrow part of the handle, and you can sharpen the edges of a shovel easily.

This... and I have seen this comment said over and over again for years. He can take Georgeson with him. Right now, the only guy I give any merit is Scott Hartsman and he hasn't done anything I consider solid since leading EQII out of the gutter. I'm starting feel a little better about Mark Jacobs with how he ran his KS. I have to give him credit, it was done well. I give Brad a little bit of merit because of EQ, and his name is standing on some thin ice.

Help us Scott Hartsman, you're our only hope.....

Pretty sure Sony posted a $450 million dollar profit last year... Their first profitable year since 2008 iirc.
