Why is this discussion even happening? Who takes 45k of crowdfunds to pay their personal bills?
An opiate addicted con artist.Who takes 45k of crowdfunds to pay their personal bills?
Ouch buddy, I thought we had something special.I don't believe anyone. Ever. I don't believe Brad, Salim, internet radio hosts, disgruntled MMO forum mods. Nobody. There are always shades of 'truth' in every situation.
I believe paper, and I believe numbers.
if you're quaid who only believes in paper and numbers (he is illiterate otherwise) then stealing the money which collapsed the company is fine because the company was collapsed due to lazy people who didnt produce brad a game and had the nerve to expect to be paid for their work. people exactly like brad! Why is this discussion even happening? Who takes 45k of crowdfunds to pay their personal bills?

People who are self-centered, egotistical, braggarts who say things about how most disgruntled workers are just lazy assholes who refused to do their job, who think it's okay to just pay yourself off when a project starts struggling instead of working to make it successful, who think fucking over other people to pay your own bills is better than doing the right thing you legally agreed to, who then expects those who got fucked over produce 'proof' they were fucked over before they get the benefit of the doubt, instead giving the benefit of the doubt to a [former?] millionaire who has fucked up every business venture since stumbling into early success despite himself. Why is this discussion even happening? This kid has a real hard-on for me eh? It's sweet.People who are self-centered, egotistical, braggarts who say things about how most disgruntled workers are just lazy assholes who refused to do their job, who think it's okay to just pay yourself off when a project starts struggling instead of working to make it successful, who think fucking over other people to pay your own bills is better than doing the right thing you legally agreed to, who then expects those who got fucked over produce 'proof' they were fucked over before they get the benefit of the doubt, instead giving the benefit of the doubt to a [former?] millionaire who has fucked up every business venture since stumbling into early success despite himself.
And then there's also Brad.
Well, assuming that conversation did occur, Brad still did not admit to not paying them, he's stating that they did not or had not completed the necessary paperwork to be reimbursed. Quite a different scenario than I'm not paying you.Yes you're right. Brad admitted that VU was not paid for the assets and another team member was owed a check. He said all they needed to do was submit an official reimburse form or someshit. He told us that in teamspeak, I'm not sure if it's in writing or not.
like any job, you submit your expenses and you get reimbursed. if you don't then your SOL. it's not your bosses fault. Either way, Vu can write this one off come tax time.Well, assuming that conversation did occur, Brad still did not admit to not paying them, he's stating that they did not or had not completed the necessary paperwork to be reimbursed. Could it be a lie, sure, but so could anything any other Developer had said without seeing any proof. That whole initial dev team seemed like a giant clusterf**k to me from the terrible quality on the roundtables to the disappearing acts of 50% of the original team.
No and I don't believe Vu had any clue either. It seems more like there was an understanding to pay VU back and when shit went down, Brad said "oh yea fill out the paper work and I'll get back to ya".Do you have or know anyone who has a copy of the "official reimburse form"? Even a blank one would do as if one can be produced I can tell you the legality of it and it would allow (even the blank sheet) for a lot of information. Also, do you happen to know who is handling the creation, record keeping and application of all the payment arrangements?
would love to see one of these contracts. No and I don't believe Vu had any clue either. It seems more like there was an understanding to pay VU back and when shit went down, Brad said "oh yea fill out the paper work and I'll get back to ya".
I was never shown nor heard of any form from Brad in regards to anything I did. The only time this form even came up was when I directly questioned Brad about owing Vu for buying the assets.
As far as the record keeping and application of payments? Lawl... Brad handles all money 100%. His stories don't even match from day to day so I doubt any good record keeping was done. All contracts were written by Brad's lawyer with direct input from Brad, just put in legal form.
A lot of what has transpired has just been gross mismanagement, huge ego and terrible decision making. I'm not one of the people who think Brad set out to scam a few dollars and run off. I just think he's that inept when responsible for anything other than his own work load... Not that he appears proficient at that either. The issue with Brad, is he has lost all credibility to most of us, making rumors much more believable. My question is, what rumors do you think might be false? I've confirmed a lot of the stuff I've wrote. No offense to some of you guys, but you're so blood thirsty and confident that anything malicious that could happen did happen. Even though this whole project was a shitshow and those responsible got some money off of it, you look a little silly when you hang onto every rumor that paints the project in bad light and assume every negative whisper must be truth.
willing to bet there was never any payment timeline guaranteed to anyone, beyond the issuance of company stock. to do so would have been completely asinine. Half the team wasn't even added until immediately before the kickstarter. Nobody points that part out. But hey, if you think there is fire by all means check out the smoke. the reality is:This is what I figured you would say (and this is a good thing for those seeking remedy - in terms of him handling all finances). For those who worked on the project, do you know how the work agreements sprang up? In other words, how was an agreement reached (signed contracts, verbal, etc) and do you have anything to verify it (voice mails, emails, text messages, anything).
What you, Vu, and the others should do first (this should be the first thing anyone does when considering legal issues) is make a timeline of everything. Be as detailed as possible with calls made, agreement dates, meetings, etc. Timelines are essential in matters such as these so for you, or anyone else seeking remedy for these issues, that would be my suggestion on the to do list. If you, or any of your former colleagues need assistance, send me a PM.
