So he woke up crying and fussing at 5 again this morning. Did a quick diaper change and gave him a bottle. As he would drift back to sleep as soon as he'd close his eyes he'd jerk awake and start crying/screaming. There's definitely something going on because when he sleeps till 6:30 or later he never wakes up and cries or fusses. His normal routine is to wake up and play with his little lion blankey for a few minutes then he'll stand up and play with the ambient sound/music sheep thing strapped to his crib and then after 15-20 minutes he'll make a fuss just to say HEY! I'm awake! but never flat out crying or screaming. Wish he could communicate what's going on.

Could be teething or sleep regression or both.
Teething can suck for everyone involved. My 15 month old daughter seems to get teeth in 4's a few weeks apart. She already has 12 and a few are molars. My son at this age only had 4. Makes feeding her people food easier though.

I am betting on the teething. He's got at least 1 molar coming in now so it's not hard to imagine that's the issue. Getting him to bed at night he settles down much easier after getting a couple teething tablets. They don't seem to help much in the morning however.

And as far as teeth go he has 13 including the molar that is coming in now. He's gotten them in 2's and once in 4's and thankfully he hasn't really fussed much at all when they are coming in. We have definitely gotten lucky so far in that regard.

My daughter is transitioning from oafternoon to no nap. Any day she naps getting her to sleep is a nightmare.

Ugh. When she naps she's awake forever.

My kid still only has 8 teeth so I'm worried they're all gonna come in at once and all hell will break loose

Motrin will help that. We've been lucky, our kid doesn't seem to be bothered by teething. He'll chew more but its not the constant crying. He was getting 3 at one time and a dose of motrin seemed to keep him through the night.

Wife turning 30 this year, parents around 62. I think we're due but we no way we can stay up all night and pick up turds all day. 40 hours a week basically just means we don't have to take them to daycare. Maybe we still take them to daycare and use the au pair the rest of the time.

Sound like you're lazy
Yeah I agree...

I'm 30 years and 5 days older than my daughter, so unless you've got early arthritis or something, it isn't that bad.

Also, daycare or au pair is the normal day-time choice, doing both is pretty shitty. Just adopt a teenager then or something so you don't have to developmentally scar another kid with how little you'd care about them.

I suggested that but I think it would be rude to deny our genes. I don't think having caretakers proportionally indicates not caring does it? Like if you get someone to watch after your grandma, are you a piece of shit? Have the au pair cleaning ass and making baby slop while I read and pet it? Seems like a nice setup to me. We both don't like the idea of being run down and neglecting our careers

Why rent when I could babysit for one of the ten million couples about to blow their brains out?

You guys think ages 0-5 are paramount to child parent relationships? I would think stimulation would be, so more the merrier.
