That's only $35k per semester. Not too bad, compared to the $50k/semester noodle said.Coworker's son is going to Duke. $70k/yr
Didn't even see "semester". What private colleges are 100k/yr?That's only $35k per semester. Not too bad, compared to the $50k/semester noodle said.
I mean 100k/yr isn't out of the realm of possibilityI was being facetious
Looks like your yearly number is more accurate than his semester number. Here's a website of the top 50 most expensive colleges in America. All of them fall between $64,500 & $69,700 per year.Didn't even see "semester". What private colleges are 100k/yr?

Where as this is just Harvard University.
"The total 2016-2017 cost of attending Harvard College without financial aid is $43,280 for tuition and $63,025 for tuition, room, board, and fees combined."
What a cheap school.
No reason at all to get an undergrad degree at a private schoolThis list is bogus, as there are schools that should be on it that aren't included. Notre Dame, for example, had a tuition cost of $51,505 and a total cost of $69, 395. How did this list get made?
It's ridiculous to spend that kind of money on pretty much any undergrad education. Specialise in your advanced degrees, and find funding for them. I never paid for any of my schooling through aggressive scholarship solicitation.
But I guess we'll see what's going to happen with my kids. I have two who will be doing college visits very soon. It's freaky as shit to consider sending them off on their own, frankly, even though I trust them and believe they have a good head on their shoulders. Sigh. Are there any parts of parenthood that are an absolute snap and don't potentially put your heart through a wringer?

Well sure but that's the exception rather than the rule for most. If you got a full ride by all means take advantage. Save the private schools for grad studies, that's where they shine.Unless you don't have to pay for it and it's a great school. But there's no reason to pay for a private school, I agree.
