Nice, our little guy is 1 in May, I can't even imagine having another baby anytime soon. The main thing holding us back is that we don't have to pay for daycare, grandma comes over everyday during the week, but she's getting older(mid 60s) and I'm not sure she could handle a baby and a toddler together.

Stay at home Mom help with that, but this is a new thing since December that my wife has been able to stay home. She got layed off, but crunched some numbers, and we are able to make it work.

Although it's funny, my wife would rather work, than stay at home, even though she of course loves our kid(s). She's more social I suppose, and craves that outside interaction more than I do. I'd gladly stay at home all day with the kid(s). haha!

So our daughter was 8 months old on Monday and she got her helmet that day... she went from taking two or three 30 minute naps to, the past 3 days, taking three to four 1+ hour naps! It's crazy. I think the helmet is actually helping her sleep but it could be a growth spurt maybe?

My six year old got her first flowers from a boy today. A bouquet of pink tulips.

I must say, I'm a little jealous right now...

That's cute. Did you ask him what his intentions are, and when he's a doctor? Have some pixels

First illness for my daughter, ear infection. We're all miserable. She is coughing too so she can't get to sleep easy. Thought it was going to be an all nighter last night

My daughter was born this afternoon. Our 1st (son) will be 3 in July. 2nd all-natural child birth for my wife, the power of red hair.

Yeah, they're both doing great. Son had an extra hole in his heart (as all baby do) that finally healed up 2 years after birth... this led to a 5 day NICU stay and a $5k bill. This time baby hasn't left our room 5 hours later

Better on all fronts this time for the most part. First pregnancy was sudden labor, water broke and he was here 8 hours later and 4 weeks early. WIth this one she was uncomfortable for weeks, contractions all last week coming and going, fake and real. Came to the hospital for 'leaking' but no gush at 10pm last night and never left. Water broke at ~2am and she was born at 12:22pm. Wasn't too bad or uncomfortable until the last few hours when the contractions really started to suck, and then the baby came so quickly that the doctor almost didn't make it... one of the nurses was 'preparing to catch' and another doctor was going to step in to observe or something.

Septum secundum defect? Normally the ostium heals up, atrial pressure gradient change at birth, pulmonary circulation, being a factor. Last time I checked langmans embryology, it said something like 20% of adults have a persistent non-pathological shunt.

Glad you're all okay :)

Think he had the other kind, atrial I think? It's down to a flash the cardiologist could only see in slow motion rather than easily seeing it at full speed initially. Just one more appointment a year after the last one to make sure it is gone.

Echo in the morning for my daughter to double check her heart then if things keep looking good we'll be discharged.

Man, I'm thankful my wife had a scheduled c-section. That sounds like a lot of pressure! In my case, I saw the doc go nuts on her insides, and pulls the baby out and was all over in minutes. Was awesome.

C-section is a little freaky too though, but at least it's planned and controlled. Very little surprise or waiting. But looking down and seeing a massive hole sliced in your wife with insides and crap just sitting there, exposed, is more than slightly unsettling

I was quite interested, and the doctor pulled wife's uterus out and I was like whoa what's that thing! and he told me. Was so cool. lol

It never crossed my mind that all her insides were opened up like a sliced open zombie or something. It was just overall cool, but I know many others who couldn't even watch something like that without passing out.
