No it didn't come off that way at all, which is why I said I'm waiting for the day when it happens, not that it just happened and it sucked.

ok based on this thread I finally went and attempted to figure out WTF Frozen was all about.

I read the plot and was like hmmm I thought it was supposed to be like a take on the Snow Queen...do I not remember that fairy tale correctly? Went and googled the Snow Queen. WTF the only thing in common with that is snow, shards (not even a mirror), and character names.

So I watch the "Let it Go" video.

And I am like....I should like this. Its Idina Menzel. Why don't I like this?

I think about it all the way into work when it hits me - I have seen this before. Its fucking Wicked with snow. Seriously. It was like having deja vu. And apparently its not a novel idea - I googled "Frozen is wicked" and a whole bunch of people noticed this. Like you could replace Let it Go with Defying Gravity and no one would know.

So annoying.

Then I had Let it Go stuck in my head all fucking day.
Yea I don't think the movie is that great either, but my soon to be 7 year old sure does and that really all that matters. My daughters weekend morning ritual now is to get on the computer and watch Frozen youtube videos, despite the fact she's seen the movie twice in theatres, owns the blue ray, dolls, etc. Yes, her bday party is the Frozen theme.

I agree with Lindz about the merchandise, you can't find anything frozen related anywhere. Disney is swimming in money because any little girl between the ages of 2 and 8 are eating up anything having to do with the movie.

Wife had quite the scare today when our 1 year old son locked himself in the car. She was out at Home Depot, and our son plays with wife's keys all the time. Hit the lock button on the remote, and wife and mother in law shut the door without realizing. Wife thought MIL had keys, but nope.

So quick scramble to call my Mom to come get her, to get spare set from home. My mom forgets our house key, and so scramble to her house for her spare house key. Finally after 30 minutes, get back to MIL/baby, and baby is freaking out, and I'm sure getting a little warm. Police had shown up just before wife had gotten back to the car, and gotten the door open. MIL didn't have any ID on her though, and wife didn't answer an unknown number phone call, so they almost took the baby because mother in law couldn't prove who she was. lol

All is well though, and baby was fine. Glad it wasn't in the middle of the summer and 110 out.

Hindsight is always 20/20 but I told her I would have called the police right away. Saved a whole lot of stress.

I'm always interested in scenarios like this and how it happens. In this case, are you saying your son was in the car and both adults then get out of the car without the kid, then close the doors? Why would they close the doors (locked or unlocked) while the child was still in the car?

I do that in my crv. I get out, close my door, open the back. But I always have my keys and the back door controls are disabled. In my van it freaks out if you try and lock the keys inside, and unlocks all the doors when you shut the engine off.

Yeah both of our cars unlock every door when you open the drivers side door... so I don't know what happened with Crone but this situation reminded me of Modern Family.

Also, AAA or any roadside service through your insurance will send out locksmiths to get into locked cars, those services aren't just for towing and changing flats.

Thankfully my car has a keypad on the door and my wife's car is keyless. The car can't lock if the fob is in the inside of the car.

Also, my kid started walking at 11 months on the dot. Oh boy, here we go.

Yeah our kid is real close to walking, he'll be 11 months next week. He's doing the thing where he'll stand up while holding on to something (chair, ottoman, whatever) and then let go and see how long he can balance before falling, or even try to take 1 step before falling. He's doing pretty good with the standing still balancing act, he'll let go and stand for 10-15 seconds sometimes, but as soon as he takes 1 step he's down. Shuffles all over the house while holding on to stuff though, even if its just a wall to put his hand on for balance.

I was taking a lunch break and I saw one of my co-workers look at his phone and he suddenly had this look on his face that he he saw his on death. I asked what was wrong and he didn't say anything. He just had this blank lifeless look on his face. I asked him again and he said this can't be real. He handed me his cell phone and I saw a text of his wife holding pregnancy test with a positive result. I couldn't say anything cause he just had a kid 4 months ago. He held his head down and he looked like he was going to cry. He already has a 2 year old along with his 4 month of old. Well we all forgot it was April fools day and she sent him an old picture of her test. The look on his face was priceless and she really owned him.

yeah in the last 3 weeks our kid has become insanely mobile. in the last 48 hours he just started real crawling (instead of army crawling).

I totally miss my nonmobile baby. He's trying to pull himself up onto the couch and onto tables...I'm like just please god don't start walking before we move out of my house of many stairs so I don't have to drill holes in the walls for gates. He walks holding onto stuff but nothing I think really close to independent walking. Though now that I've said that I'm sure I'll find him upstairs walking around his crib.

BRB, have to go start some bullshit with lindz. Or something (am I doing this right?). You know for all the crazy ass women this site has seen come and go I'll remind you all that I am still here, and still haven't gone BSC.

Also I am going to pee on a stick today myself. Body is doing some weird stuff that makes me think I might be ovulating soon. Or its just a random estrogen surge. It would be absolutely forseable that I'd get pregnant just in time to not be able to drink for the beach weekend I have planned end of May. My supply is up actually.

our daughter has been pulling herself up onto things from a sitting position for about a month now, like the crib and pack and play. She also holds herself up on tables and the couch for while before she plops down (can't pull herself up that high yet). She doesn't seem anywhere near ready to crawl though at almost 9 months. Doctor didn't seem to care when we saw him a couple weeks ago when he saw how well she was standing and support herself at his office so who knows. I didn't crawl until after I started walking according to my mom.

Same with my husband actually on the crawling after walking.

Honestly I was freaking out about milestones until ...like end of Jan? Then I realized that A) there was fuckall anyone could do about it; B) every milestone reached was a step away from him being my tiny baby anymore. And for some reason I literally stopped caring. Which is really bizarre for me. And then of course he started doing all the things immediately there after

. The thing that I love the most in terms of development actually is him eating with us. We went down to the city with another foodie couple to Range (Voltaggio) - he had pate and hamachi crudo, roasted beets arugula goat cheese.....but he got stabby when I couldn't shovel in some of the caramel pot du creme in his mouth quickly enough. The group at the table next to us remarked that they couldn't believe how well behaved he and the other baby with us were.

Its really interesting watching him have his own preferences. He loves peas, zucchini, beef, and manchego. And bread. Jesus does the kid love bread.

We used to have to eat after he went to bed just because of how colicky he was we couldn't put him down or not have a boob in the kids mouth. So we went from dinner at 9pm to dinner at 6:30-7. As a family. Its awesome.

Food was becoming a problem for us... she literally would not eat any of the "puffs" and other things we would put in front of her (like bread/toast), or the stage 3 food that comes in pouches that we started to buy. The puffs she would put in her mouth and just spit out, the stage 3 food she would just gag on and refuse to put in her mouth. The puffs thing went on for about a month and the gagging for like a week, it was honestly the first time I was ever truly frustrated with my child/with being a parent. Then literally on Wednesday of this week it was like someone turned on a switch and she can't stop eating the puffs and she gobbles down the stage 3 food like its the pureed stuff we've been giving her the entire time. Amazing.

This is the stage 3 food I am talking about:Happy Baby Organic Baby Food 3 Hearty Meals, Chick Chick, 4-Ounce Pouches (Pack of 16): Amazon.com: Grocery Gourmet Food

and yeah she is starting to love ice cream, just little licks off a spoon but she goes nuts for it.
