I know noone cares, but I want to talk about the story for a second, because I love all the Vaal stuff.
One of my biggest complaints with POE 1 was how nonsensical the storyline was and how you go straight from saving a local town to dealing with gods with nothing in between. It comes out of nowhere. At least in POE 2 we have that backstory already so it's a little bit more set up and easier to follow the narrative this time around.... even if it is a little bit too ripped off from Diablo 2.
It's a great a-ha moment when you realize why Utzaal was was specifically built in a basin surrounded by waterways for the explicit purpose of sinking the city into a lake. Didn't catch that on my first playthrough of Act 3 but I caught it when going back through for Act 6. Loved the surprise ending when they pull the rug out from under you making you think it was just going to the ending of Act 3 and then they switch it up.
Still not sure what exactly the Beast really is, I know Sin made it but the backstory on all that is still pretty hazy and just kind of infodumped on you in one single conversation at the statue of Garukhan, I hope it's fleshed out in the real acts 4-6.
