I found that WASD meant that keyboard is movement and abilities sharing fingers, which felt awkward. Mouse is facing and targeting sharing your wrist which also felt awkward but not as bad since you'l usually face your target.

On controller, thumbs are movement and facing, fingers are abilities. Feels much better since there's some seperation between thumbs and fingers. You can't target as precisely but you have default aim (closest target) and aiming with facing joystick (furthest in that direction) which works well enough.

Big caveat is that different people will have different levels of muscle memory on different peripherals.

It's a lot of mana for Comet though right? Was that an issue?

I have it on Cold Snap which is really low mana cost. Think I'm just short of Comet level to test it.

Also had my eye on the Monk skill that casts on freeze but needs activating, was hoping that one is mana free.

Yeah, it's a mana hog for sure. Cold snap was too though, just not quite as much.

I don't ever seem to run into mana issues as long as I use my potion.

That said, assuming I wasn't melting the bosses so fast, I could see it being an issue there. Especially with hypothermia which seems to kill my mana.

Feel like I was swimming in support gems early on and now haven't seen one in Act 2. Wanted to change a few things up but am bone dry due to experimenting before. Guessing I'll start getting some of the Level 2 ones in a bit and it'll work out.

Went out for a few drinks after work so I YOLO'd with some orbs. Dropped as just +3 cold. Augmented with the life gain. Regal'd for extra DMG as cold. First ex was spell DMG, second was light radius/mana Regen, third was cold DMG.

Literally your first set of skills let you jackie chan. Are you not staggering palm around the screen like a boss? Wait till you figure out you can staggering palm a npc that is portalling and portal across the screen with them. Satisfying as fuck.

sort of.

frost wall, frost bomb are also mana hogs. ES is not supported well in PoE2. so everyone is going eldritch battery anyway. Either MOM, or damage is taken from mana nodes.
can get arcane surge, and surge effect in the tree.

sigil of power, and mana tempest both pump damage, for mana. mana flare, and a bunch of other stuff scale off max mana as well. Everything is pushing you towards EB.


Comet is a mana hog. but cast on X Comet is just totally busted.
unleash, etc. and its just skips its cast time. 1s base+1 total. 2s cast normally. Cast on freeze only counts the 1s base for energy costs anyway.
3-8 comets cast on freeze. deleting bosses.

cast on freeze coldsnap is good, without being totally busted.
cast on freeze flame wall is as well.

Lightning spells... underpowerd. I swear ball lighting is missing a zero.

Found a staff on vendor with sick cold damage on it. Gave it a whirl adding some mods to it. Think it added the skills to it. Then I'm like, shit, guess I'm making this rare and throwing more mods on it. Not sure what else I could add to it, but it seems pretty close to god rolled.

Should last a while and be a nice one to pass on to someone in a bit.

Also, fuck that viper boss so hard. If that one doesn't get nerfed I'll be shocked. Thanks for the help on it.
