I’m reallying enjoying the game it’s super fun, that being said I won’t ever go below 200k gold, I’ll gamble to that point and stop. Don’t ever want to get caught with my pants down again, didn’t really expect to stick to the ranger, saved a lot of witch uniques thinking I’d try one but it’s not like d4 that’s for sure, lots to work on probably be throwing more shit in the guild bank because I’m going to stick to the rangers, really feels like I’m Raiden and when I get the ring that turns lighting into freeze I can be Raiden and Sub zero combined.

But, I think my impetus for insisting on SSF for 2 is that Rogers(and Wilson back when he did podcasts) have gone on about how they have such trouble convincing players to use currency while leveling. Rogers made a point about wanting players to slam gear with exalts while leveling because it will be common enough(they aren't). Regals aren't common enough either to use semi carefreely. But, if I played trade, or even guild selffound, I wouldn't really be testing that.

When they say "while leveling" they mean, while leveling in maps. And sure, exalts are pretty common in maps.

They are very smart about some things and very obtuse (or maybe even actually dumb) about other things.

I definitely slammed exalts into the first good bow and quiver I got while leveling in late act 2 when the game started getting hard. Once my build got going, Cruel was a joke.

Exalts weren't super rare while leveling, and Regals can be gotten from disenchanting.

Obviously when leveling a second character, I wouldn't be spending currency.

Campaign exalts were common enough that I was using them but rare enough that I realized later I should not have. Whenever phase 2 launches I'll be right back to not using them.

The big thing with currency is magic find is insane. On my first char I got maybe 5-6 exalted orbs by end of act 3. I have 10 by middle of act 2 on the warrior I made because he rolled a couple lucky magic find items early on.

They haven't released any information. I'm operating under the assumption that this will go for a bit, there will be a pause and then they'll have another beta period in which all of the classes and a few more of the acts are available.

If they launch in six months or whatever without an additional beta period and we're going in blind with all the other classes it's all aboard the ranger train choo choo. I'm not going off on my own again to test.

They are hoping for late 2025 full launch, I doubt that happens.

We are missing the following classes:
Huntress
Marauder
Duelist
Templar
Druid
Shadow

We are also missing 1 Ascendancy for every class we already have which is:
Monk
Witch
Sorceress
Ranger
Warrior
Mercenary

So thats 6 whole classes (and all the weapon types) and 24 total ascendancies missing

We currently have 6 classes, and 12 ascendancies in the game. We are also missing 3 acts and several end game mechanics.

If they purposefully held back completed content than this year seems reasonable but if the beta is essentially everything they've done up until now it's hard to see how they'd make it out in 2025 with a product that met their standards.

Yes but if comments in interviews are to be believed at least 3-4 of the classes are almost ready, and the next two acts are as well. Considering they were originally going to finish the campaign for November release but got flipped to end game content only a few months before that.

Definitely should've been utilizing trade more. Figure I can probably buy something for 1 exalt and sell it easily. Basically rent it for leveling.

Picked up a new bow and I'm fucking flying through Act 5. Like, the damage increase is insane, even where I had a really good bow to begin with.

Will probably upgrade a few more pieces for 1 exalt and sell em off in a day or two.

So, if I wanted to stick to a true test of their intentions, I should only use transmuted and auged gear, with the rare regal?

The problems that I see include having to adjust and even abandon/redo some of their design philosophies based on feedback. They probably can't (and probably won't) keep plugging along with their pre EA timeline without needing some substantial pivoting. So even if a lot of the content was close to ready I'd be surprised and impressed if they make their 2025 date.

Are you using weapon swap and taking full advantage of the separate weapon passives? Are you using 3-4 skills regularly to clear and progress?

If not you already failed the "true intentions" test.

I hope they're far along because the further along they are with PoE2 the less it's going to take a shit on PoE1. If they have to spend all of next year working on PoE2 it's going to be another two league year. I expect the talk of late February is going to turn in to March and then that league still needs actually be good. Settlers launched at the end of fucking July. They phone one in so everyone can get back to work on PoE2 it's going to be a bad look.

Right now I think the road they put themselves on has them pissing off their core PoE1 audience to bring a game to market that doesn't have the same hours per league played longevity.

I didn't use any weapon swap tech but thinking about it more shouldn't it be crazy? Say you're a merc or a ranger. You walk in to the boss area and while the dude is monologueing you swap to gas arrow, put as many down as you can, detonate them when the fight starts and then swap back. You swap your 20 atlas tree passives out of lightning stuff and that's it. If traps are decent than someone on that side of the tree swaps, takes all the trap nodes and does trap bosser thing. Any lengthy intermissions in a fight gives you time to preload with whatever couple of skills makes the most sense for what you're doing.

Just swapping to get access to movement skills they can't be excited about.

There's only so far I'm willing to go!

I was actually looking to use the weapon swap tech, Lightning Arrow for clear, Shockburst Rounds for single target. But I'm having trouble maintaining one weapon, let alone two.

That's the problem with "the vision". It completely ignores needing multiple weapons and enough gold to actually set up the two trees... while leveling.

It also ignores the fact that most people don't want to be that goddamn try hard.
