I just don't get it.
Nobody has more experience at long term ARPG gameplay than these dudes but they make design decisions that outright make no sense. What is going on here?

They really took their "soulslike" meme meta and made it so that the fights are slow but the real souls part where your build, your tactics, your approach and your gear choice is completely ignored. And the idea "just play something that is good" is dumb as hell. I don't want to play ballista or whatever two skills they overlooked in their enshittyfication crusade.

Grindy soul bosses and cool set pieces are cool yes. But its super cool that you generally only have to deal with it one time. The Colossus Boss for example. That terrible ass boss is a 5 minute slogfest where if you fuck up your dancing you just die and have to do it again. I hated that boss even with a crossbow build.

Respecced to try again, blew 10000 gold and went essence drain/wither with SRS and Arsonists.
I dodge and nuke the boss, all goes fine, white adds come and freeze and kill me, all pets are dead at this point (90% of the time dead).
Just no. Then you check the endgame with minions and it's even worse, only spectres seem to work and not very good.
Fuck it, I'll check in next week if theres something changed.

yeah, I did more testing, and experimenting. Chrono is top caster now for sure.
Unleash is a 50-90% dps increase for faster cast spells like arc, spark, fireball, nova, icebolt, eye of winter, etc. raw.
.4-5s cast time, results in a 2.5-3s unleash CD. The unleashed spells are empowered, with 15% more damage, and cull. (that 50-90% dps isn't even including cull..)
unleash, now and again(33%chance to ignore CD), time rift, time stop.
Time stop bosses, unleash-unload. COC-comet or lightning conduit.
Staff skills have zero mana costs. I'm debating if that is the solution to the busted spell caster mana problem end game. staff loses the benefits of disciple sceptre, as well as its 100-150spirit. ouch. and focus ES. or Shield of adura 50% Cdr
Freezing shards is interesting though. shotguns. 100-% more freeze buildup. 5 proj. with chain/pierce its solid map clear. and due to shotgun+freeze, can also boss well.

i dunno, i think i just had a shitty build on lauch league because i'm having a much easier time. i'm running ED/contagion. specced for chaos damage. shit skulls with ember fusilade (for now). I am still in act 2 but i dunked on all the bosses so far including balbalas and the first trial (lich now!). I know that's not a tall order but i did both without taking much damage and never had to tre-try anything. I'll wait and see if act 3-6 slap my dick off, but at launch i had a shit sandwich playing till i got hex blast last time so i dunno. interested to see how i do today.
Maybe i was training in 100x retard gravity so i don't have the experience of having played one of the actual good classes before the nerfs haha

The bosses are doable for the most part, the unfun part is white mobs making you backtrack half a map when the speed charge you like some fucking zombie from 28 days later.
Got to the last boss on Act 2 now and I just rage quit it. Got him to maybe 80% in the first phase and he totally depleted my hp pots.
If this is the game they want to make thats fine, but it's not the game I want to play.

I want to like it. I want to spend another 300h into it. Hard to kick the urge to play when I love almost everything about the game besides the nerfed shit they added.
My hope is they tune the fun I like back into the game, if not thats kinda sad but lives goes on.

Wondering if I should just try and buy an OP spear for Act 2 when I get on, can probably get a WAAAAY better one than I'm using now for an exalt, just didn't really want to start spending them this early in the campaign
1 exalt quickly becomes worthless, some of the best 1 exalt purchases you will ever make is during the leveling process.

You're not wrong, I was just basing it on my previous playthroughs, didn't need to buy a weapon until either the end of A3 or the start of cruel, but I am sure it'll be a huge help.
The first A2 boss was another 7 minute fight before I logged off yesterday, the opposite of a fun experience.

I'm using SRS Arsonists.
Nearly half way through Act 3. Killed Silverfist, Fire Witch, Chimera easily.
I got Enezun's Charge and The Dark Defiler weapons for an alch each.
Minion life and respawn passives. Take Mind over Matter to go with Soulless Form - it's rough with bad gear but you don't die easy anymore.
I'm not using chaos spells, they don't synergise with SRS. Use fire spells.
On packs use Volatile Dead on bosses run around in a circle summoning SRS with Fire Wall.
Edit: Just tried Fire Ball. Holy shit it's good. Respecced fire damage instead of minion damage for now. Need a few more lv2 passive gems to bring this build all together now.

Well this patch has broken my addiction to this game. Been playing Last Epoch learning all the systems there and will probably put in some serious time once their new patch comes out later this month. I'm still hoping POE2 turns out well, but I'm not going to put another 500 hours into this until some massive changes are done / campaign is actually complete.

One of the BEST ways to get GGG to fix their shit is to totally dumpster their "logged in users" statistics. GAAS are completely dependent on that.
A mass exodus to LE is a good way to accomplish that, even if it only lasts 2 weeks.
