Has anyone used Frostblink of Wintry Blast as a damage skill? I hooked it up to a mine build to get around the cast time and ran into a fair amount of clunk that probably sinks the build. But, the one time I ran across an echo shrine, the clear went from serviceable to amazing. It was similar to Consecrated Path Totems but a lot faster and not gay. Is it a lost cause to try to get repeats on this type of build? I know attacks have Fatal Flourish, but I can't think of anything for spells.

Maybe. Have you used FoWB as a traversal skill? It seems to be popular among Archmage builds and I'm not sure why. It doesn't get that "first cast" benefit that most other travel skills, even Leap Slam, gets. So you have to invest heavily in cast speed for it to not feel like shit. Which then encourages you to spam it instead of what I prefer, frequent cast interspersed with walking, letting you aim and get your bearings. It's almost like you're playing Flicker Strike when spamming it.

It's popular among Archmage builds because you are stacking cast speed anyway AND you can get double tormented wands. It's essentially instant cast at the high end of gear.

Early on it's just a nice traversal skill because it doesn't have a cooldown and you are dual wielding wands so you don't really have any other non-cd movement abilities.
