They have to consolidate flasks now right? Or give us the ability to fire them all together. I mean you could use 3-4 abilities in combat at least with a bunch of 6links.

campaign 1 characters get the first set. Campaign 2 get the second set.. both combine into the same end game, playing together.
(they are unlocked via account. so unlocking Ranger campaign 1, pathfinder, raider, deadeye, will let you choose them with any ranger after)

Johnathan just talked about it basically they dont want to seperate communities and used Everquest 1 and 2 as an example. They want PoE 2 to contain 1.0 for nostalgia was the TLDR.

Skill Gems will drop with sockets you can modify like you can items now

So gems will drop with varying sockets, so you'll need to find 6 link sockets for the *gems* for the skill gems. That seems rather interesting.
Are they doing away with gem quality and such then? That seems like a fucking RNG nightmare.

I love this honestly. I said it in discord with a friend but it really does feel like the bosses they showed in the first presentation especially were very dark souls inspired to me.

So it looks like all armor shields and weapons will have 2 sockets, jewerly and stuff will have 1. Then on the gems themselves, you'll have sockets to slot supports for that specific gem. Those can drop as 6 link, or certain color combos, etc.

They said on stream there's an ascendancy focused on the new shapeshifting so yeah.

Also on the 8x6L thing, have to remember that you actually need to make/buy them, it's not automatic. So you're not gonna get super powers right away it'll take a while to build and I assume good gems with 6L are gonna be expensive as fuck, even if they're situational. Interesting how they'll make Tabula with this new system, maybe only have one gem slot but the slot has 6links automatically? I also assume jewellers going away? That or fusings whichever, since from what they've shown all the sockets are just linked apparently so there's no need for both currencies.

Anyway lots of interesting changes. Also Chris said some stuff isn't done yet that's why it hasn't changed(flasks I assume, he mentionned skill tree specifically though).

Might play the next league though it looks neat, the league itself looks meh but all the changes added to the core games might be worth playing on their own anyway.

My question for people there is how are they going to balance a shared end game?

PoE 1 with old links and gear, PoE 2 with new gem system? I have so many questions now about what the overlap is other than end game
Only difference between the 2 is the campaign, they both have the same endgame and all other changes apply to both. It's basically so they don't fully upgrade the campaign to the new one and new players never get to see the old stuff, kinda like with wow cataclysm where you can never replay the old shit(until they released Classic obviously, or you played emulators but you get the point).

First paragraph on the official page: "Path of Exile 2 is a new seven-act storyline that is available alongside the original Path of Exile 1 campaign. Both the old and new storyline lead to the same shared Atlas endgame. Path of Exile 2 retains all expansion content that has been created over the last six years and introduces a new skill system, ascendancy classes, engine improvements and more. "
