I'm doing ziz's spells linger build pretty much. It's actually fun. I never really play casters. But seeing all these spells going off is awesome lol. And I'm stomping stuff in my 20s. Hopefully it feels like this later too

This league seems designed for a shoot and scoot type of build. Reminds me a bit of high GR grinding as a DH in D3. Except the rewards are kinda shitty sometimes. I hope they scale up better in higher maps, I'm just starting into yellows.

Chaos recipe seems pretty good this league.

I've been one shot a few times for sure. That said most mechanics get easier as you progress more and gear up. It's cheap to put unkillable monsters in zones and yet again it's very hard to see sometimes.

It's ripped many hc characters already.

In typical PoE fashion, from time immemorial, league mobs are overtuned in early game. It is nothing new. They are rippy as fuck though, I still do them occasionally while I am leveling but they are clearly designed from a geared up perspective (as always with leagues).

Anyone have a line on the meta-est of meta builds so far? I am running the typical cyclone build solo right now but need an alternative to level up with my friend. Looking for something OP lol.

I'm ripping like crazy this league. Probably 50/50 delirum mobs, and little/no leech in the build.
frenzy VD spellslinger as well.

reddit says you can vendor 5 equal rarity cluster jewels, and get back a random equal rarity one. Allowing you to reroll the implicit. did not test.
Ilvl should be equal to lowest one vendored. Might need to be at least magic.

I always put in +elemental resists in my tree while leveling up. You mostly get one shot because of piss poor resists. Easy to reskill later with decent gear.

Anyone playing ED/Contagion? I decided to start Toxic Rain Trickster and it's odd how I have almost zero motivation to reroll. I usually reroll ~5 times a league because I think another build is better or I just want to try out stuff.

I think ED/Contagion *might* be better. But I'm also remembering from the last time I played it(Legion), it was really annoying when the ED would get bottlenecked on a fatty. It seems like this league has a ton of fatties as you progress into the delerium.

I want to try out spellslinger and blade blast. But, nobody has been nuts for spellslinger, it seems a resounding "meh", which a 0.5s cooldown seems to imply. Blade blast, I've heard nothing about.

Can anyone confirm or deny that the skill Barrage (not the support Barrage) is causing Spellslinger to proc twice? I was watching Ziz proc twice as many orbs when using the Barrage skill vs. Frenzy + Barrage Support? He has since stopped using Frenzy. Some say its a bug, others say its an issue with getting your attack speed down low enough.

Starting to actually get some payouts from delirium finally. It's not ideal, but you really have to just go max zoom-zoom and ignore all loot until it's done.

So much of the danger in it tied up in death effects that stopping for even a second to try and grab something is just gonna get you killed. If you're just always going forward this means you also are mostly free to just step on every little pustule thingy to spawn more mobs, even if they are the suicide bombers guys cause they won't catch up to you.

There's also the fact that map bosses drop 2 splinters every time, so if you just blitzkrieg the entire map, collect your tier 5-6 reward or whatever, then slam the boss for a couple splinters you actually make some okay profit.

That all said having to walk back through the remains of the map to finish clearing and grab loot is some real garbage, but I don't really see a way to fix it given the nature of this mechanic.

Barrage was acting funny with Poet's Pen last league, proccing much more than frenzy. IIRC, that was not the case before 3.9. My guess is the implementation of Barrage Support changed the skill gem too. Unsurpising if Poet's Pen and Spellslinger share some base code.

I'm pretty amazed how powerful toxic rain feels.I could never get in to ED/contagion previously due to similar issues with rares breaking up my flow, but I'm not sure it even it clears any better than toxic does honestly.

I wonder how well this will scale in to end game though. I'm doing yellow maps now and the only thing slowing me down is the poison DOT rate, not even the mobs HP.

Quick question about setting up PoB. When planning out the passive tree, how do you save brackets, like how some PoB builds show what passives to have for Act 1, Act 2, etc?

I've found that doing a back and forth wiping pattern allows for looting, but this really only works in open layout maps. My dps isn't such that I can clear the whole map with delirium anyway, so there's little cost to going back a bit to loot.

If you're confident a pack of mobs will eventually die in X skill activations, you should move on. Sucks for looting, but your filter will become more strict soon. Phasing from a quartz flask and Dash help a ton for getting around mobs that are going to die but haven't died yet.

But, I assume you know all this. So, am I misunderstanding something?

Not 100% sure that's what you mean but at the bottom of the tree there's a dropdown list that says Default and if you click it you get Manage Trees. This lets you add new trees. You can use that for example to compare 2 different pathing and see the differences which is useful for endgame optimization, and you can make a lvl 30tree, a lvl 50tree and a lvl 80 tree if you want in there too.

If you mean finding out how many points you have exactly in each act based on the quest completion, I'm not sure pob does that automatically but you can find an estimate based on the map level of the last area+the amount of skill points from quests.

this has to be the worst league they've done right? maybe synthesis was worse? but god the mechanics in this are so poorly thought through lmao
