Basically, you want to skip as much trash as possible in A1/A2 unless its blue or yellow. I dont know if you are playing alone but it really helps to have people to level with to split up for some quests, it also really helps to level with an OP skill like searing bond and then spec out of it once you hit the 60's.
Bosses are tough when you are much lower level but you just buy the rings for the resists you need as you do them.

I'm such a wiener I do docks till I'm +5 over zone level. Better safe than sorry.
Also, I almost Ripped to an ambush chest with freeze on open + ice nova + rogue exile. Got within 10%..
Edit: GJ on getting Alpha to drop. What kind of MF runs are you doing for it? Or was it just random?

Most builds dont really even start to shine or show their OP side until the 70+ numbers also, at least most of the ones I have played. Buzzsaw just went wild on me switching to blood magic and being able to use 5 leveled aura's and im just hitting 70.

It's the point where it starts getting grindy for me and it's usually a new shiny comes along and distracts me or the buddy I usually play with and that's it. I've be been playing the one month solo but I'll probably try to get some buddies into the game when the new 4 month starts. I'll at least make it into my 60's-70's this time since I've yet to finish cruel, and I want to see my spec fleshed out.

There is like, zero fucking reason to stockpile orbs in a 1 month lol -- I'm guessing most of y'all are just testing a build or messing around. Sell your shit to those crazies paying 7-800fg ($7-$8) per ex orb.
Also, PoE economy 101 is rush to a level where you can farm the chaos recipe, farm up craptons of chaos and constantly spam trade chat looking to trade chaos into exalts. Exalts always rise in value from day 1 to at least day 60 of a new league.

A few days into a league you'll see people spamming trade chat with "WTB exalt 24c" or some shit... for Invasion, it started out low 20s and peaked around 31, I stopped playing at 31chaos to 1exalt. The idea is exalts are super fucking rare drops, but chaos just take some grinding. You farm mobs 60+, collect one rare of each item type, then vendor them all for a chaos. You ALSO save valuable items to list in your player shop. You also trade chroms/alts; 16 to 1 chaos. The entire idea is funneling low tier currency into chaos orbs, and chaos orbs into exalted. This is because when it comes to end-game gear, only exalts talk. No one's trading you something awesome for 8 million types of shit orbs in your stash.
You can get banned if you're super obvious about RMT, shrug, I never got the impression GGG gave a shit if someone D2JSPed their orbs away. They're probably more concerned with the uber shop mules that are running hordes of bots.

It went from 8:1 on day one for exalts up to 28:1 now a week later. Its really just like an MMO, get ahead of the horde asap and farm early to get real rich. Ended up flipping the Alphas I bought for 5 exalts and then buying one for 3 also, poe.xyz.com is just like an auction house.

The top end of the ladders early on are full of guys that D2JSP for stuff like 6L Searing Bond etc.
Some have been banned (Cybrix for example was a fairly public ban) and GGG looks at the obvious cases obviously.
It's even against the race rules to trade currencies in another league for currency in the particular race. Depending on the race. There were accounts of people trading like 50-100HC exalts for a nemesis koams or some shit.

So I was looking at the vendor recipes page and I found the recipe below. Is this the preferred/easiest way to go about getting 20% quality gems all around, or at least where it matters. And is this something I should do early on, or asap for my primary gems.

How do you guys handle creating leveling gear towards the end cruel? I used to chance or alch an item the occasional suitable 4-link or weapon when I needed an upgrade or to connect some gems but I think what I've settled on is maybe a chance and if that fails roll the magic item with alteration shards until I get 2 stats I want. usually resists or +pys on a weapon. I usually have a few stacks of alteration shards from selling excess shit unique items. I kinda have a grasp on how to create good items level on and that I should try to get by with as little as possible until late in merciless.

I'm the type that will solo farm merciless merveil or cruel piety for gear/tradable gear for a day or so until I get a couple upgrades to progress through merciless.
More reliable from what I can tell than saving your alch orbs. Although I do the ring alch thing as Krassus suggests as well later on. (I got some sick life dual resist cast speed stuff in cruel so saving alchs wasn't an issue)
