Is any build safe? I'm expecting wordy hand-wringing over nerfing block and dodge and ultimately disappointing replacements. But even that doesn't take anywhere close to 14k words. I'm having trouble coming up with how they could meaningfully fill 14k words. Unless it's got a lot of bloviating.
Ed contagion is always safe prolly lol

I wonder if part of it will be justifying removing old league content? Or maybe they are getting rid of conquerors and explaining why the endgame needed to be changed?

I just don't see any way massive explanation from them will be good for players.

Getting rid of some old league content would be nice.

-Maybe a massive crafting rework? That would surely not be totally fucked up by these assholes :I'm Fine:

-Following the suggestion that others have made here ( Deathwing Deathwing , I think) where you take away all dps supports and add the dps into the main skills. IE: make supports only change skill behavior, not damage. I think this would be a great change, personally.

-A lengthy apology for the casinos within casinos within casinos (It's basically Casinos All the Way Down) recent game direction decisions. Yeah right, and maybe I'm a Chinese jet pilot.

-A new NPC that allows others to trade with you while you're not there. Maybe name him Aacton Von Haus.

-Strikethrough the previous entry.

-20 new skill gems that are very different and not very slightly better versions of existing skills.

-Møøses.

They posted the schedule so I guess it's not skill changes and just "balance changes", which sounds like a lot of nerfs.

Recovery nerfs? Probably getting rid of anything that go over ~20%/sec, like LGoH and lots of hits per second. Might even do something stupider and make it 10%/s max, scaled to 20% for every second you've stood still recently.

No slowing down monsters though.

They shouldn't get rid of old league content, but they shouldn't make it required to do, such as delve, unveiling shit, and running legion to get 5 map device, etc.

Ok, prediction time. I am most likely going to be completely off here but I'm going to take a gander and see if I'm correct. I'm basing this on the Scourage thing I saw get socketed into the inventory. I brought up a few pages back talking about TOCS3 and how it does Master Quartz and how I thought this would be a cool idea for poe. So I'm gonna explain really basic how it works and we'll see if I'm right in my prediction. Probably not. LOL. But I'm gonna try.

This is a Master Quartz from TOCS 3

1633405573870.png

Each Master Quartz is based on an element, and gives 3 things: 1. Abilities, 2. Spells, 3. Stats. These are not all unlocked at level 1, in fact it's pretty basic at level 1. As you level it up more though things start unlocking more, and earlier abilities get stronger (eg: the break damage in this example starts at 50% and ends at 200%).

So my prediction for Path of Exile?

You will get these things that drop. I don't think they will be elemental centric but they will convey bonuses to your character either through stats, or keystones, etc. They can be equipped, unequipped, and tradeable. I think they will offer something unique too, that hasnt been seen before stat or ability wise. I think prefix will be stats, suffix would be abilities, and implicit might be something extra special.

I think it will be leveled up in an unconventional way or have different requirements (eg: complete 10 breachstones), and upon being max exp can be used to take you to another domain that is based on its ilvl and level and type of item. Upon completing this other domain, it will gain a level and get stronger and then the process repeats. Each one that drops would be different, convey different bonuses, and some of them you might not even know what they convey until you level them up a bit.

Ol' Chris is gonna try to make players come back with wall of text. And whatever is written has very little to do what the actual patch notes are gonna say because, as usual, Chris has no idea what he's talking about regarding the state of the game. He'll ramble on how things used to be in D2 and how he wants to emulate that. Also a lot of time will be spent on building up the hard mode. Also how PoE 2 is their main focus when it comes to fixing balance issues what plague the player base the most. Basically same old shit, just served with a different topping.

"We're tired of you assholes always reserving a ton of life and mana for the big deeps and cold converting all our cool attack skills so we're nerfing a bunch of auras. We're also nerfing the popular attack skills because fuck you. People are still pianoing flasks (guilty) so charges are going down again also people seem to work really hard to not get wrecked by ailments so we're definitely going to make ailments even harder to avoid."

I'm expecting Path of Exile : Scourge : Mines or Traps League

I'm actually thinking about reinstalling PoE again just to check out the new league for a week or so, but if it's mines and traps league, they can go fuck themselves

You're missing out, mines without Minefield and detonate on left click are fine. It enables a somewhat unique archetype that can easily cross into too spammy. Mines is one of the few builds left where you have to somewhat avoid getting throwing speed. Since 3.15, almost every other spell archetype is starved for cast speed.

That's a lot of buffs. A few nerfs here and there(or in some cases, a cancellation of the buffs, like some of the strongest unique flasks) but overall it seems much improved. The planned changes to auras/curses also sounds interesting, nerfing their powers for aurabots but buffing them for low investment levels seems like good design if they don't fuck it up, aurabots are way too strong. Pantheon changes also look nice enough, not huge but pretty good. Immunity to Freezing on crab pantheon instead of the janky "immunity after you get frozen" shit is especially nice. Purity of elements also looks pretty strong now, obviously it's a 50% reserve so that's heavy, but ailment immunity and much easier gearing from the all resist feels like it might be worth running on some builds.

EE getting nerfed might have some pretty big impact on some builds that aren't targetted by the buffs though(notably minion builds) so will see how that one goes. Honestly it's surprising EE still exists in its form though, should have been removed years ago.
