I have Vagan at level 1 too. I check the quest whenever I meet him, but he always wants to pick a fight, and there's no way I'm risking that yet.

Vagan (and Haku before the patch) were both a total bitch in merciless early on.
Once your character reaches endgame and obtains high dps though, his quests are mostly quick and easy.
The ones that annoy me now are when Zana tells me to go into a special map and do some objective in 90 seconds. Then when I zone in, the mods are foolishness like no regen + reflect or whatever. I can handle those map mods, but they require me to swap around gems and/or gear first, which wastes the timer. On top of that, there's usually one or two mobs left up hidden in the zone when the time is running out. Screw timed master quests in general.

I leap slam my way to victory (wish i could use whirling) and just kill the objectives or click whatever she wants. The GD lodestones map is a PITA to click.

Last night I got some pretty good drop luck and managed to get a 5L chest. Krassus hooked me up with a few gems and got my res up and on to Act3 Merciless. I'm actually able to gain levels instead of getting my ass handed to me...still need to get my chaos resist up, and a Multistrike gem!

Quick question:
Do prismatic rings(innate +all resist) exist anymore? Took maybe 6 months off of the game, came back to the new leagues, and I have yet to see one drop, I'm level 55 in Act 3 Cruel, and havn't seen a single one.
I have an assload of them sitting in my bank in standard league, they used to start dropping around level 30.

Keep checking Vagan for his Multistrike gem for a regal. He resets after dailies. Or try and trade chat one for 2-3c.
Yea I have been. I don't feel I really "need" it right now, and I'd rather save the chaos for something else at this point, for what I don't know.

You can convert one of each dual res ring at the vendor for a prismatic. Don't think they drop any more.
Also with Elerons all res to rings/amulet crafted mods it's hard to tell the value of a prismatic these days. Diamond rings are the real deal though if you can use their implicit. They're widely considered BiS for any crit based build.
Eleron makes all types of jewelery much more valid now though.

Multistrike is pretty integral for the majority of melee builds. If you're a str based class you can get a multistrike gem from the Merciless act 3 library quest I believe.

Once you get past the basics:
Take some time to browsepoe.xyz.isalso if you have gaps in gear. You can pick up some pretty sick stuff on a budget.
I set these advanced forum templates up last night and flipped 8c in 30 mins. In totally shit cruel gear.
