What build you using? I'm using this build. It can be very expensive but it can do all content. Only map that I avoid is ele reflect and if I do it but I have to be VERY careful. You pretty much have 100% uptime on flasks which means constant vinktars, quicksilver and dying sun buff. Thinking about adding a sins flask also.

My broodtwine harbinger bow which is mirrored and the best bow on standard cost me 400 ex alone.
It's on standard :(

Yeah I play exclusively on standard. There's not a bow even close to it exists on a temp league. The guy who made the bow spent tons of currency to craft it.

Still deciding if this is a fun game long term. But in the mean time, are there any micro transactions that are worth the cost? Currency stash tab looks nice even though I don't need the space yet.

Personally I love the tab MTXs. Eventually you'll need some premium tabs since those are the only tabs that allow you to quickly export your tab to poe.trade to sell items. You can technically use 3rd party apps which scrape your stash and post a forum thread which then poe.trade scrapes to list your stuff. But its kind of a pain in the ass. Its better to just fork over the $10 and use premium. Other than that the currency/essence/div card tabs are all very convenient and worth the cost. Currency being the most convenient.

I'd recommend buying at least one premium tab so you can sell stuff on poe.trade easily. Basically you right click on the tab and set it to public, then anything you put on that tab will be scanned over on poe.trade. You can just right click on an item in that tab and set a buyout price for whatever you want.

To piggy back here you'll probably need at least 2 premium tabs. Set one tab as bo 1chaos tab and the other as individually listed. Else you'll constantly be fighting menus to list 9/10 items at 1c instead of quickly dropping it in your tab and back to mapping.

Also wait for a tab sale. It happens fairly often.

10 Premium stash tabs are the most important for trading (best cash/benefit ratio), the currency stash tab is good so you don't have to hunt down your currency across the whole stash, the rest of the stash improvements is more QoL. Unless you are absolute packrat, it's not that easy to fill over 15 tabs.

Man you guys make me look like such a chump. I've never been able to do uber atziri or shaper. But for the legacy league i really want to try to push myself to get them done once each before 3.0. You guys got any suggestions on some tried and true builds for doing so? I was thinking of doing assassin ci dw scourge blade flurry.

Postpone your judgement until you get a shot to play a fresh league... either the 2.6 coming up early March or, even better, the enormous 3.0 expansion in Summer. The playerbase for PoE is somewhat cyclical -- a fresh league is super fun for at least a few weeks.

Stash tabs on sale today! Still waiting though. Some of those other "micro" transactions...jesus. Is someone really plunking down $440?

Anyone else have stuttering issues on larger maps? My cpu and mobo are from 2010, so maybe the answer is just "upgrade" but with an SSD and 12GB of memory, this doesn't seem like my hardware performance should be a problem.

Not sure what you are talking about with the $440 thing. The prices in the store though are points, not dollars. Dollars give you a bunch of points. For example, the $60 supporter pack gives you like 550 points. Some of the higher level supporter packs can cost $500 or even $1000 in the past and plenty of people bought them.

That is one of the very cool things about PoE actually. You can spend as much as you want or as little as you want, it doesn't effect your performance ingame except maybe a premium stash tab for trading. The "whales" though can spend all they want and get some extra stuff. Like having one of their characters in a special map as an NPC, or getting to collaborate with the game designers on a special unique or divination card, etc.

I've spent like $700 on supporter packs over the years. You gotta support good game developers. This shit doesn't run on free.

HoWA Blade Flurry will let you face tank 99% of in game content until its nerfed if you need a build to learn with. For 2.6 HoWA might be silly expensive though, you could do that flameblast build with 3 curses.

Getting to level 90 and doing T5 maps isnt end game, thats day 1 for an experienced player. Just keep that in mind when reading responses like "lol this build sux" or things along those lines. Those are inexperienced people usually who have never even come close to the end game. This game take works and rewards grinding which goes against the instant gratification and everyone gets shiny stuff model that is the norm now.

I've probably pumped in around $100 since I've first started playing way back ago. I agree that GGG deserves support but I've got an issue with how they are pricing their microtransactions. It's the first glaring thing I've noticed since coming back.

Full cosmetic armour sets cost 420 points meaning it being approximately $42 to buy. That is retarded pricing. $42 costing nearly a full priced new game on steam. Supporting the company is one thing; getting value out of your $$$ is another. If GGG priced the armour at approximately $5-10 per set, I would most probably have bought a bunch of them. At current moment, I've only got a bunch of premium tabs and currency tab. I've still got a few hundred points sitting in the account but I could not bring myself to buy their ridiculously overpriced armour cosmetics.

I spent probably close to that or maybe less on supporter packs. I really don't mind spending the money cause I invest alot of time playing this game and it keeps me occupied. Plus the customer service is top notch. I have purchased MTXs that I didn't like, emailed CS and I was refunded the purchase. I've had my character named changed per request and even my account name changed with no issues within 15 minutes sending my email. No game I have played imo comes close to GGG CS.
