So what is the cheapest, fastest leveling, glass canon, high dps, softcore character I can play for the flashback event?
I haven't played too much PoE, so I'm still not great at determining power levels and good builds for cheap gear.

Bow characters are pretty quick with leveling. Summoners don't clean as fast, but generally more durable and you can run them on 4-5 link, personally I like skelemancer. They you have Hierophant totems, either Arc, GC, Bladefall or SR all work. Sabo GC miners are also generally pretty cheap and good choice, Bitterdream for leveling and you are good to go.

Both my characters kind of hit a dead end and tho I have some currency not really sure where to spend it. Haven't really looked at the upcoming race, guess I'll do that I think it's more than a week when it starts. I don't know anything about races. Apparently I did just enough of the one in harbinger to get a mystery box and got a fire lion pet. Guessing it's a total start over, no bank from the league and such?

Yeah I think i'm tapping out on this league now. Don't have much desire to grind more maps out and I doubt my disintegrator char has enough sustain to actually do uber elder.

Is there a way to filter sounds so that only the loot drop sounds play? Or are they tied to gameplay sounds?
I love to music and chill when playing ARPGs, but with gameplay noises and music all going on, it sometimes makes the drop noises difficult to hear. I really wish they'd let you set up mini-map filters as well. It's kind of insane to me that they have such a robust way of allowing you to filter loot, but don't allow for visual indicators on the mini-map ala D3.
