Minions are in a really good spot now, but personally I would avoid anything that isn't immune to damage at this point. Fuck skeletons and zombies--Agony crawler and Dancing Duo are where it's at. Use them alone or with stuff that is generally very hard to kill like certain spectres and animated guardian. Agony is particularly interesting because it has +2900ish flat phys already so minion jewels are basically a drop in the bucket and you can save a ton of currency by not needing ridiculously expensive T1/T2 life-or-ES/flat phys/_________ jewels in like 5-10 skill tree slots.
If you really want to use skeletons or zombies, I think best choice is to pair them with Soulwrest and phantasms. It's a great build for mapping and content like delve (to 300 or so) and can even kill Shaper with ease, just not so hot for uber Elder/Atziri.
