I'm thinking of ED/Contagion/Blight(seems so good for league mechanic!) Trickster for league start even though I played that last league and this is the melee league. I might have to kick myself out of the guild.

There's almost too much, even for someone like me that CRAVES this kind of shit, to figure out before launch. Starting as melee is almost going to feel like buyer's remorse.

That said, nerfing Trickster one league after changing it is really bad optics. Leave it alone for a couple leagues like every other broken thing in the game.

Well, I feel they’re going toward league metas so you’re going to see things buffed to OP then nuked from orbit every league.

Also. The problem wasn’t trickster. Yeah it’s maybe a little too strong but it’s synergy with winter orb and winter orb itself was the issue. Maybe they nuke the shit out of ED/cont and Soulrend because of the league mechanics. If so, maybe they should do a better job designing their fucking content.

Trickster's Ghost Dance charges now generate at a slower rate, and provide a reduced value of attack and cast speed. The charges were rarely depleted on a reasonable character in normal gameplay, providing massive defensive power that was far too reliable.

Eh, I can live with that, especially as a starter.

We've decided that Winter Orb, Storm Brand, Bane and Soulrend were too powerful for clearing through content without heavy investment, so the damage and other aspects have been reduced in power.

Warlord’s Mark now only applies its leech bonus to attacks. The curse easily solved mana problems for casters with minimal investment, and after deliberation we've decided that solving mana problems for spellcasters should require more thought and a greater opportunity cost.
fuck you spell casters!

Jesus, nerfing skills two leagues in a row or just after introduction. This train is going off the rails!

That’s disappointing. I’ll wait and see what the numbers are. I didn’t really feel soulrend or stormbrand were that OP.

What a fucken ass raping. How do we make melee better? I know, we’ll nerf the everliving fuck out of casters. Honestly it needed to happen and im hoping they manage to slow the pace of the game, but the road they took to get here is pretty silly.

All those spells were retarded. People cleared all content on low geared 4 linked Bane. Soulrend I don't know as much about, but fucking Worb/Bane/Brands were just overpowered as shit. Can do all content with 4 links and some moderate caster weapons. Bane and Worb basically cleared the screen for you and Brands at least had SOME mechanic play to manage correctly.

Casters have had like the last 6 leagues. It was time to rein them in a bit. Warlord's Mark nerf sucks, but that's fine considering all the support gems and passives they added for spells to leech.

We want to make melee look good so lets nerf casters.
We can't be bothered to make any challenging content so lets nerf the players in order to make the current content harder.

Worb/Brands needed a nerf, i'm surprised they didn't hit vortex too as that's very powerful.

How the hell has HoA managed to not be nerfed,? It's nearly as good as worb and it's more fun to play.

Soulrend nerf is interesting since it wasn't very popular and I'm not sure it's that powerful, but Bane was an obvious one, shit's broken as fuck, most people who were going for ED/Contagion or Soulrend builds early in the league ended up using only their 4L Bane instead for clearing and only using the other spells for bossing, because Bane was literally just a one hit kill on everything(the degen was stupidly fast too so it diesn't feel like a dot and more like a 8stacks flameblast that was channelled instantly).

That's a lot of nerfs to ES play though, right after it was buffed. Granted it was retarded last league but between Occultist large nerf(Trickster not so much), fossil nerf for easy crafting and ES nodes nerf, shit's probably not gonna look great.

Anyway it's the usual cycle. Everyon's gonna be a Slayer or Berserker this patch. They'll probably get nerfed next patch, and Raider which apparently is getting buffed will probably be the new meta(maybe).

Not a fan of melee splash nerf though, shit's gonna hurt summoners a lot(well summoners using melee splash, obviously spectres still don't give a fuck). Like I get that it's stronger if you melee a dense pack, but I think I'd rather have taken no overlapping aoe(just one hit, like how molten strike will generate balls only for one target as they said it's per skill and they're doing it manually) and a stronger melee splash, for more consistency, than "sometimes the pack explodes instantly, and sometimes you put all the mobs at half hp" kind of shit that's going to potentially happen.

I just saw the neft to HoA - probably needed. They've gutted so much it's pretty funny to read the reddit thread.

GGG seem to be totally incapable of balancing this game, I know it's a convoluted mess and the code must be dire judging from the optimisation but fucking hell you'd like to think they'd have a clue how to.

I'm dreading whatever they do in 4.0.

How do you figure? Soulrend was the second most popular skill in softcore.

I never liked bane over ED, left too many stragglers. I didn't max it out like ED though. A fuck ton aoe like star of wraeclast would have helped.

My only contention on bane and soulrend is that boss damage was kinda meh. You had to run wither or blight. Really blight. To be acceptable.

This is only about clear speed nerfing.

How do you run blight in a Soulrend/Bane setup? You're already spamming Soulrend.
