This is the kind of stuff that's driving me nuts with this game, you just got your first char to 73ish?. I've got a friend who has been playing a little over 2 months. He has found a Koams Chest, Lioneye bow, thunderfists, and an alpha howl. I've been playing since before release, have several map capable characters in their 70s and 80s and haven't found an item worth even an exalt let alone something that's worth 5-20. I may have some random rares rotting in the bank that could go for an exalt, but yeah, selling is incredibly time consuming and frustrating. The RNG in this game is rough.
Don't even get me started on map RNG, no way I could stomach spending the time and currency that Pasteton does on maps. I'm grateful he does, as it keeps me playing, but I think they need to ease it up a bit on maps dropping.

Thanks, went on a spending spree today with the proceeds from soul taker. Bought a 4L Hubris for 1 exa with 107% ES, and 4x% lightning and fire resist. Used 3 exa on it and got it up to 478 ES with the 4x% dual resists and I think intelligence/block recovery. Was pleasantly surprised considering all 3 exalts on my Vaal Regalia gave me doody and now I have to try again (or maybe i'll find myself a shavronne!).
As far as the RNG being rough, what do you usually run? Group of 6 (lot more quantity)? MF build or at least one in the party (the one i've been sporking on lately has had anywhere from 40-100 IIQ and 250-330 rarity since she was level 31 (and she has 370 deaths, that's a lot of exp down the drain... I could be mid 80s heheh)

After the rng today, and with ffxiv coming out soon, I just don't need the aggravation of the rng in this game.

It's all just dumb luck. Out of my ~10ish characters I've taken to level 60ish in Hardcore, almost all of them have either found a 5L chest as a drop, or I crafted one with less than 1 stack of fusings. I gave away 3 5L chests and a 5L staff this past week in softcore, and since then I've already found 2 more in hardcore. 1 was a 5L chest just sitting on a vendor in town, and another randomly dropped as a common grey item already 5-linked. I see videos of some people spending hundreds of fusings just to get a 5L, much less a 6L, and they seem to be pretty common for me for whatever reason.

So I will be MIA for a while from this game - maybe until the release - but I did craft up that vaal you gave me - got a nice roll with 800 es and I 5L'd it too, lol.
I probably used 5x the currency it woulda cost me to buy it but I can finally say I crafted something =p

Haha, motherfucker. Finally get past merciless Vaal for the first time on Hardcore(thanks to double curses, enfeeble + temporal chains), and I immediately die to Perpetus in the next zone. Fucker was down along the south zone wall, where he's almost NEVER at, maybe 1-2% of the time at most. 2-shotted me with his goddamn bear traps. Time for a break from PoE for a while...that one pisses me right off. Sent another 5L BP to softcore...

I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed the open Descent test league this weekend, that's a hell of a lot of fun just grinding through level after harder level with no way to go to town. Couple new monster models I haven't seen before either, like the things that looked like big skeletal bears.

So I just cost myself 4+ exalteds because my mouse stuck a little bit while I was trying to 4S my alpha's howl and instead I end up clicking on my fucking 625 ES 5L 6S vaal regalia and turn it into a 2S...
Not such a great start to the day after being so happy about getting a 6L and a decent helm to replace the GG one I just sold yesterday...
