Decided to start up a lightning-strike marauder. Holy crap. I guess I didn't really realize that lightning strike works with any weapon, 1h or 2h. I'm only in act 2 normal, about level 25, and my 2-linked lightning strike + added weapon elemental damage is putting out almost 500dps with a nice 2h sword. Of course, I only have enough mana to attack about 10 times, but it doesn't matter, it 1-shots everything except yellow unique mobs, those take 2 hits. My plan was to eventually use a claw+shield, or possibly dual claws for the life leech(I have a really nice unique claw in the bank that is usable at level 30) but lightning strike + a big 2Her with a great elemental damage mod is just a beast. I don't know if I can give that up.

So I decided my shitty computer is ruining the game for me. 19 times out of 20 any death is related to having 4 fps in a heated battle. I'm 79 and can't do any map above 71/72 without serious risk of death. I could do prob up to 74 maps by now if I had a worthwhile comp. it's a shame because discharge is so much fun

I also can't play any alt character into maps. Discharge only works because I don't require any precision whatsoever. FP was really fun early on but in groups it lags too much to do anything.

I really love what they did with the maps system. You spend nearly every kind of currency rolling them, you have the option of spending lots f currency to improve chances of going up in maps if you are currency-rich and map poor, versus spending little per map if you are map rich and currency poor. The whole system is absolutely brilliant. Too bad there aren't that many really fun builds.

Plenty of fun builds, just not all of them are currently that map friendly. Or at least viewed as map friendly by the community. There is still a bias against melee/life builds and preference for ES and/or CI. Don't even get me started on hardcore/OS

Should get your mf up and join me n hateyou dabamf. One of the reasons I don't do 6 man parties is lag as well. Especially fuck rangers summoners and cyclone builds

I've modelled my duelist around this build, though I am self-found so gear is pretty average. (did find a Lioneye's Remorse (shield) and Carcass Jack (chest) which adds 20% to the AoE size and +extra Gore)

Lvl 80 now, and the key is really the Infernal Blow + Multi-stike + Melee Splash. I also use fire traps (way OP) and Leap-Slam into packs, just obliterating them in huge gouts of flame, blood, and meaty chunks

LOADS of fun after a hard day at the office.

Figured lol. Got two 69 maps and a chisel is all I remember. Been currency farming instead of maps this week, unless I see 70+ PUGs for exp. newest patched lowered exp penalty by 5% thankfully. Sucks leveling when ur in mid 80's and no maps.

Did the patch go in? That will help a lot. Rng in this game so whacked. Spent a buncha chaos n chisels rolling up a promenade map, when I did it I got no map and I died from the hardass mods. Got pissed and did 3 more 69 maps without anything but one alch each - got 2 71s, a 70, and a 69

Do map drops inside maps get lower as you progress up the map tiers? So far i've run one 68, 3 or 4 66's and 3 or 4 67's but I only had one that I cleared with no map drops (the 68 kicked my ass and I didn't even get it half way cleared to get any drops).

Leveling up a spork totem witch now to hopefully finally have a decent IIQ/IIR char so I can get some currency/decent drops and start moving on up.

I feel like global map drop percentage needs to increase by 5-10% from current levels. I bought a bunch of 67maps a while back and spent entirely too much currency rolling them to 35-40%, I alch every 68+ map except ones that require maze, which I alt for maze and regal, and I'm now sitting on one 71 (temple!), one 68 and two 2 67 arsenals. I put way more currency than I should into these maps just because I want to get up in map tiers, and I'm not even getting a sustainable amount of 67s. It's really frustrating. I spent 60 alts to maze a Vaal pyramid about which my group called me an idiot, I spent 50 so far trying to maze this temple to no avail...I'm pretty much at the extreme of "blow currency to get more maps" and it's not enough. How the fuck are people runnin 72+ maps consistently

At this point if its under 70, I'm taking whatever roll I get unless its too annoying/hard of a combo. Tired of wasting all my currency and getting jack shit. Cheaper to just buy maps.

They need to revert the "only 66s can drop outside of maps" bullshit

Same here. At this point with like 35-40 lvl 70-71 maps, I better atleast get to the good mazeable 74+ maps.

Well, I sent another 5-link pure ES chest(lvl 50-ish) and a 5-link 2H physical axe(lvl 50ish) to softcore this weekend when Merciless Vaal took out my lightning strike marauder. Shouldn't have tried to solo her.

So I have 3-4 level 50-60ish 5-link chests and the 5-link axe rotting in Softcore that I'm willing to donate to a good cause if anyone could use them. I've never actually grouped with anyone before in the game, so I have no idea how to trade or anything. How do you track a person down via chat/tells? Is it by account name or the specific character that you're playing at the moment? Let me know and I'll post the info here in case anyone wants to look for me online for one of the items.

Is it true that a sporker can't do maps without a shavronne? I just got like 40 lvl 66-69 maps for free today and was thinking about interspersing them in my docks runs to spice things up but I don't have a shavronne's and won't be able to afford one any time soon (40 exalteds rofl). I'm set up in pretty bad gear all around just focusing on IIQ/IIR.

I'd imagine that would only be the case on maps that contain chaos damage.

Ok, here is all the standard-league gear (5-links and uniques) that are free to a good home. (Spoiler for huge pic)

I'm on most nights playing hardcore(currently on a character named "Kyennnn"), so track me down there if you want any of this stuff. I'm generally on around 11pm-1am Central Standard Time. If you can't find me online, shoot me a PM on the forums and we'll work out a time.

All I ask is that if you want something, take it because you'll use it, don't take it just for the sake of reselling, I'd like to actually help some people here. I'll update this post if anyone calls dibs on any of the items, and hold them for a few days at least until we can hookup and I can trade it to you.

Yeah, sending my Andvarius to softcore while I was mindlessly farming docks and fucked up and died(post a few pages back about dieing while jacking with multi-monitor setup) was what damn near drove me to quit playing hardcore. That sucked, I'd used that thing for SO much farming across many, many characters.
