Dumb question, but I just got a ps3 to play some games that came out since I had one last (a few years ago). Is there anyway to get it to display off the bat using the HDMI cable or am I stuck hooking up the AV cables, doing the menu shit then setting up hdmi? So far reseting the console and shit brings up no display, just dont feel like fucking with the av cables.

I've had no problem going straight to HDMI it probably depends on the TV you're using to some degree.

I got it, thanks guys. So awesome my bundle came with free psn+ so I have all the new games for free, plus activated my vita games. Still forgot about the games I got from the hacking so have like 15 games again. Awesome.

My birthday is November 9... make it happen, Sony. You know you want to beat Microsoft to the release.

edit: then again, UPS doesn't deliver on Saturday. So Friday!

this post was submitted on 03 Feb 2013...

I did some calculations and my predicted US release date for PS4 is November 12th, 2013 (self.PS3)

submitted 4 months agoby morphinapg[+1]

I inputted the US release dates for the other consoles in excel:

September 9, 1995
October 26, 2000
November 17, 2006

And I created a chart (scatter), right clicked on the data points, and created a trendline (polynomial) This allowed me to create an equation that matches the release dates of all previous consoles, which I then used as a basis for predicting the PS4 release date. The equation was:

169.5x2 + 1365.5x + 33416

where x is the Playstation x (1/2/3/4)

When you plug in the number 4 for x, the result is 41590, which when formatted as a date in Excel, comes out to:

November 12, 2013.

What do you think?

By the way, this would also predict PS5 on October 12, 2021
