Eh I'm not worried about that - I've had Sony consoles go south on me I think 5 times now over my gaming history - and they've been all-stars on cheap repairs and replacements that ACTUALLY WERE FIXED OR REPLACED (unlike 360 that I mailed off and received back still broken THREE TIMES - one of those times paid for while in warranty just to try to encourage them! Fuckers suck at fixing optical drive errors I swear).

Even the time my cat decided to push our brand new (like 2 weeks old) 500 GB Superslim PS3 for a swan dive onto hardwood they replaced it with a brand new one for fucking free - $0 for a repair I'd expect any place to tell me tough luck and charge for the repair. (And I was honest about the circumstance) They even pay for the shipping both ways even and provide a special padded box for it. (Which I seem to recall MS didn't do - I know they didn't provide a box "Send it back in it's original box" (like I keep that shit to waste space) - but forget if they provided a shipping label)

Hardware issues will only be an annoyance of down time while they fix it - no doubt they'll continue to back up their product ironclad like they've done for years now.

You put $0 down to pre-order. They simply put your name in a list of people who had ordered. First come first serve.

No money is charged against you until the moment they ship you a package. Then your credit card is billed.

I pre-ordered mine on Amazon yesterday. More than likely I will be on a waiting list. Any I idea how long that may be? Should attempt maybe pre-ordering one also at a local store?

I'd imagine I would be able to sell the extra one for a profit right before holidays.

I pre-orderd mine at my local Gamestop along with 2 games. They are only taking 20 systems and they filled up their orders Tues by 3pm. Ebay and Craiglist are gonna be flooded with overpriced PS4s for sale.

Also is the PS4 region locked? Can I play Japanese games on an American PS4?

The only complaint I have (which is a minor) Sony should of partnered with TwitchTV instead of Ustream for live streaming. Everyone who stream games pretty much uses Twitch.

Probably one of my only complaints as well, and a small one at that. The question is, will PS4 dominance have an effect at all in swinging viewers to Ustream?

Doubtful - LoL, Dota2, Path of Exile, and MMOs are what generate traffic on Twitch. Yeah people stream some console games on there but it's much more difficult for someone to setup a stream for consoles than PC games.

Obviously ustream will have a big boost with all the PS4 streamers, but I don't think that would make all the PC streamers switch over.

On ps3 launch I flipped 2 of the backwards compatible since the Sony rep had already told me the next models would not have the capability. Only made about $300 profit off them (each).

I won't bother doing any of that this time around. Wife works in Bestbuy management, so we might get a little discount off this at least. The pre-order sku wasn't available in the stores yesterday, but was online. Weird.

Was just playing Sleeping Dogs on the ps3 and this came on while driving.
