I was in a gamestop asking what pittance they would give me for my DSLite and DSi for trade in a 3ds XL... anywho it was about a week or two after the XBone announcement and I asked "So what has been the reaction over M$ DRM stuff and used games" he said "It will make no difference you can still just bring your games in..." I asked about the rumored activation fee of a used game and he said "We will just adjust our prices down so that in the end its about the same price for a used as before." I then said "like that 2.99 copy of sonic something for ps3?" his reply was "Well..I guess not"
GameStop in my area has always- ALWAYS been XBros- they push xbox so so SO much- I am sorry to derail but I remember this instance clearly.
Mom comes in, you can tell she is 'working class' or whatever- shit so am I- but you could tell she has been saving as she alluded to it when she asked "I want to buy my sons a game system, what do you reccomend a xbox 360 or a ps3" well I instantly would have said a PS3- this was when the slim just came out and the price reduction.. but the dude turned slimy used car salesman instantly- he showed her the xbox 360 arcade, you know the one with a wired controller and like 3gigs of storage and no wifi.
She then asked "I know storage on these things is important now, is 3gb enough?"
the guy said "Yes"
she was smart, she asked the right questions "What about games that need to be installed?"
XBroEmployee said "You can add on the hard drive later, we have used ones for XX$" I think like 70$ used? 90 new or something.
"Well do you have a used one?"
"Of course!"
"What about movies, and online gaming...like for multi player and stuff"
Yes the xbox does that
"Do I need anything for this?" - again she is asking all the right questions
Yes you need xbox live gold- a year is XYZ$
She ended up buying the xbox arcade, the used hard drive, the wifi add on, TWO extra controllers because one would not want to use the wired while the other is wireless, 2 used games and a year of XBLive gold.... way...way more than if she chose the PS3... but each of the components where "cheaper than the expensive PS3!"
It was bad...and they do that shit every single day.
Once the XBone comes out they are going to downplay and use Microsoft speak to the max- I hope they get super customer rage upon them
