Like the proverbial Model T, the PlayStation 5 will launch in any color you like, as long as it’s white. If that doesn’t match your decor or taste, a company called PlateStation has unveiled a series of third-party colored plates to make your console look a little different.

accessories - dualshock 5, camera, pulse 3D headsets, etc - will be sold starting this friday (10/30) at retailers

I had ordered a red and matte black plate from platestation.com they emailed today saying they are overwhelmed with orders but still planning on sending them out as close to launch as possible

Yeah I’m not sure why people are so stressed about color and visual design. In a few months the market will be flooded with custom plates

Don't know why i'm getting hyped for this, but I am. Not super excited for any exclusive launch titles but I think the kid in me want's a new shiny toy. I was kind of meh on DeS on ps3. Glad I held off on Spiderman but that's basically it for the immediate future. My ps4 Controllers are shot and I have been wanting Persona 5 so that justifies about a third of the price i'll be paying for what's gonna mostly be a very big and ugly media device. Assuming my disc-less even comes on time (which i'm pretty skeptical of), or if the demand is crazy and I can sell for a nice profit I guess.

Speaking of controllers, adaptive triggers sound cool and all but the more they cram into these things the quicker I expect them to fall apart. Hope i'm wrong though.

The console look great but I will wait for the game library to get bigger before I buy one. My PC just got rebuilt so i would only get PS5 for exclusives.

Are there any dates for God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn 2?

I tend to severely abuse my controllers. A bad habit formed at a time when controllers could withstand such abuse with ease. Now that these things have more technology crammed into them than a space station, I probably should invest in a punching bag or something...

When I was a kid, I used to throw my Atari 2600 controller when things didn't go my way, to my defense though, I had put a cushion to throw the controller at so it wouldn't break. I was immature but not entirely stupid.

Disney's logo being on remotes triggers me, given what that company has gotten away with.

On a lighter note, right now I'm figuring out what I want to play before the PS5 launch. I'm gonna go back to the PS3 and only play that for now so that the PS5 feels like a big graphical leap.

Not kidding: I've got a few unplayed PS3 games that I might try to blast through now. Have the whole God of War series platinumed except GoW2 on the PS3, so I'm going to play/100% that just to have done all of them, then I'll see what other unplayed games I've got on the PS3 shelf for the rest of the time until the 12th. Dead Space 2 is probably the frontrunner (cause the season) but I'm also eyeing 3D Dot Game Heroes.

it is interesting that nearly every unboxer/reviewer/etc has been GLOWING about the dualshock 5 adaptive shit, i don't really get it but maybe its like VR or HDR, you don't really understand until you try it. I was gonna cancel my 2nd controller order (ships friday!) but I guess i'll keep it for now

I've been surprised by that also, not sure if it's due to embargo being so restrictive that they are trying hard to find something to talk about. On the other hand as you mentioned, it's almost every everyone.

Not sure how much it will matter to me.

Paid for. Pre release press usually has manufacturers allowing only discussions of certain aspects for marketing.
