Pretty happy that PS+ will work across all 3 platforms as well! That would have been the only fear for extending my sub out further.

Indeed - part of why I'm considering the deal Soy just posted since $40/yr is pretty much the best they get - even just one would get me to late 2015, heh.

Being a gamer who doesn't have the funds to keep up with new releases, PS+ was a godsend.
I honestly can't believe the value I've been getting out of it for the last few years.
It's extra satisfying to get a platinum trophy for a free game too, something I was able to pull off for Infamous 1 & 2, Sleeping Dogs, and Just Cause 2.
And when I see a game for free that I originally skipped out on but had wanted to play, it kind of makes me feel like just not buying new games anymore... Honestly, the only problem is they keep coming faster than I can get through with them. I've got a huge backlog of games I refuse to delete but never get around to because more just keep coming.
Best video game deal I've ever seen... And I don't even have a PS Vita!
I've actually got to renew it this week. Unless they changed how the system works, if I wait for my membership to lapse and then renew it, it won't re-activate the games I've already downloaded but instead force me to download them again. And some of those downloads take a looooong time.

For people on the fence, I wouldn't even recommend a trial period. In a few months you'll only get a small slice of what's being offered, and it's luck of the draw whether you'll get awesome or mediocre games. You might get a fantastic game during your last week and not even be able to enjoy it. Plus, part of what makes it great is that you're constantly building up a deeper and more varied game library that you can keep coming back to, something you can't enjoy in 3 months.
It's really a no-brainer. If you have a PS3 (and especially if you're on a budget and don't often buy new games), PS+ is absolutely the way to go.

They'll deactivate while PS+ is inactive, but you don't have to re-DL - it will just reauthenticate them before they'll be playable again. [Usually about 1 min or so on my old wonky Comcast account, not had to do a reauth with FIOS yet which is rock solid (DLed all of UC3 in under 4 hrs np - 40+ GB didn't even make it sweat apparently, and I was torrenting at the same time $$)]

It's similar to how if you "reset your permissions" or whatever with the games you've bought on an account via the main website that you can do every 6 months.

And I absolutely agree - MS was an underdog for me going into this fight because of PS+'s incredible value - I'll never let it lapse until I leave consoles completely behind or they discontinue the program as it stands.

[PS - Infamous 1 was for PS+ at some point? I only ever got 2 - and I've been subbed the entire time minus a week or so since they've been doing real games I thought...]

Ah... I never bothered to grab the downtime ones - was too heavily invested in some MMOs at the time and overlooked the chance. That would explain it.

Also, anyone seen word of a Vita price drop? And on a side note - people looking at getting a Vita new, that are looking at adding PS+ or more time to their PS+ - the one pack includes a 12 month card. Think I'm gonna skip on a $40 card right now since there's a good chance I'll be grabbing one of those once I know if it's getting a price adjustment or new model - and that card will put me well into 2015.

PS+ leaks are ALWAYS accurate to date. And besides BF3 the EU list for July has all hit PS+ in the US.v

If you have A Vita do you get all of the PS Plus games for the PS3 also even if you don't own a PS3? So you could eventually play them on the PS4?

You can't play PS3 games on your PS4. That being said, I had a PS3 with no Vita until recently and you're able to 'reserve' the downloads for other systems, even if you don't download it immediately. When I got my Vita, I had like 12 games on my PS3 waiting to go.

Technically Soy was inaccurate here - PS4 will run PS3 stuff via the Cloud at some point in 2014. (With the delays with Vita getting PS1/PS2 classics to run on it - I'd expect that to be late 2014 - not early)

PS3 titles won't run on it Day 1, and we don't know once they start how fast they'll get them set up - I do tend to think that PS+ titles will be preferred when they get them ready for Gaikai however - since those likely have a higher demand of play than most (and lets them provide less "real" PS4 games for free while retaining PS+'s value - if you look at PS+ before about a year and a half ago it was very rarely anything from this gen, mostly PS1/2 classics and minis/indie titles - I'd expect PS+ with PS4 once they've got it running to be focused on PS3 titles as a result - great games but lower value to them than competing with brand new stuff)

And on "reserving titles" with just a PS Vita - I don't have my Vita yet - but I seem to recall the store on Vita only saw PS Vita playable titles - so you wouldn't be able to flag PS3 stuff if so. However, I do believe you can flag them on the PSN Store website via PC. (You should be able to, I know you can do non-PS+ purchases through it - always done my PS+ through the unit though and no freebies to test available right now, already grabbed yesterdays update)

As for the Vita store, I believe you're correct. You only see Vita games on it. Have never tried on the website.
