ESPN's 30 for 30 podcast just came out with a series on the Donald Sterling scandal. Really good listen:

I listen to a bunch of entrepreneur ones.

What's that stuff like?

I've been digging the Dateline podcast for a few months now. It's just their Dateline show audio put on Spotify. It works really well in that format. Lots of episodes too.

I'm listening to episode "scorned" and it's crazy.

I recommend!

I just listened to the limited series "Dolly Parton's America" from the guys at Radiolab. I really enjoyed it. Also listened to some limited series podcasts from Jon Ronson that were fantastic. The first one is called "The Butterfly Effect" which is about the rise of PornHub, and the other is "The Last Days of August" which is about the death of porn star August Ames. I really recommend both of them. I am really hoping he does more like them.

The Dropout is a good podcast which I enjoyed, it's about Elizabeth Holmes. If you've seen Alex's Gibney's Out For Blood documentary and enjoyed that you'll enjoy it. It's much more in depth than Gibney's documentary and talks to various people who worked at Theranos, including some senior designers she lured there from Apple.

Place sounds like it was terrible to work at, and the Indian guy who was her 2nd in command sounds like an utter cunt.

Pretty good if you like financial scandals.

Been listening to Down the Hill for the last couple of weeks, it's an 8 part podcast about the two young girls that were murdered in Delphi, Indiana a couple of years ago.

It's quite enjoyable if you like crime podcasts.

I just can't with the true crime stuff anymore. There were two episodes in particular of Sword and Scale that were just way too much. One about some family in Texas where the parents basically tortured the kids, another about some Filipino people putting infant torture/murder videos up on the internet. fucking bananas how awful people are.

Stuff doesn't bother me too much. I mean I hear this shit and I'm sad of course, but I'm just unphased in general.

That said if that ever happened to my kids I would try to find the killer first.

I made it like 3 episodes with sword and scale. Didn't find anything entertaining about it, just depressing. All the women in my family seem to love it though.

I prefer the crime podcasts where they do one case over a few episodes, you can't do much with an hour for many cases if they are unsolved. It's much better if you can get a fuller picture of stuff.

Think they have DNA in the Delphi case so it could well be solved soon what with genetic researchers etc.

true crime garage does this, usually 2 eps spans, they recently did a 6 eps span

on a related note, i finally switched podcast apps, i was using beyondpod for... wow since the droid w/ the slide out keyboard.

i switched to podcast addict, beyondpod was not just crashing, but it was so fucked it crashed my phone (i saw systemui not responding...)

i tried a bunch of other ones, it didn't matter free or paid, i just had two requirements, which was to play w/o downloading at 1.5x speed and to import opml (the file format to save your podcasts), which surprisingly google podcast(their app) doesn't do, but has the nicest interface.
