pretty sure it's been cited before: FastPokeMap - Gotta Track'em All

you have to manually click an area to search, and sometimes it errors or returns zero results. think of one click as 1 person there w/ the app open. I basically click 4-5x and deceide if it's worth driving around the neighborhood for 10 minutes or not. there's 2 spots w/ magi spawns that i check most often.

others have listed a more advanced tool where you give it pokemon accounts to search with. it can be setup to text you alerts i think for whatever pokemons you want to be alerted to in your area. i haven't set that up as I would hate to get notification when I can't get away

Fast poke Map is not great but its better than it was a few weeks ago, it can help you find some clusters and identify places to camp out.

I have found some nice close subdivision cultisacts with nests of 4-5 spawns.

That's a big part of what has helped me, I've got a dense spawn cluster right behind my house (have to walk ~100 feet, have gotten as many as 6-7 at a time before) and another dense spawn cluster a couple blocks down the street on the way to the pokestop loop. The rare spawns are consistently on the opposite end of town from me, but I have a bicycle for that. My biggest handicap is how much of a pain in the ass it is to farm pokeballs, I have to drive one town over to be able to hit a decent density of stops.

Oh today I found a Jynx at 960 CP. Appraised as 81%+

It also has an ice fast attack, which I found surprising since every single Jynx I've ever looked at had pound and was therefore no stab garbage.

Too bad it has the fairy charge attack. But I guess I'll see some use out of it yet.

Draining kiss sounds like it should heal Jynx? Does it do this in proper games?

I need one stupid candy to evolve my first Gyrados. I really wish they would implement something like a "friend" system. You would select your Pokemon to be your "friend" and as you walk around it would give you gifts like candy. That would be awesome if they ever added something like that.

Hopefully I can get out later today to get that last stupid fish.

Visited my largest client today, had a 560 "strong" Dratini in the parking lot. First one have ever seen...only what 25 more to go before I can evolve up? lol

Not sure if sarcasm? The latest update adds the buddy system.

6 more to evolve that one into a Dragonair. 25 candies to evolve. You already got 3 with the catch so you only need 22 more candies. 6 more will get you 18 candies from catching and 4 additional candies from turning them into paste allowing you to evolve your best into Dragonair with 2 Dratinis left over.

Or you can take him for a walk and 110KM later you'll have your Dragonair evolution.

Sigh... The last Magikarp I needed spawned on the corner of my block. Caught it and evolved a near perfect Gyrados with Twister. FML.

If it happens to you twice more, then you'll be in my position.

Still no patch for me in Japan either.

Are you team instinct? because on team instinct, a 'really strong' appraisal is only 60-80% IVs, I.E. a complete waste of candy considering how long it takes to farm enough candy to evolve a Dragonite. At the very least you should be evolving an 80%+ Dratini, ideally 90%+. I mean it's bad enough that you can get a very sub-optimal moveset, but as big a deal as Dragonite is, you should be as patient as possible and get the best one you can.

Unsure if this was a problem for others, but today's Android update fixed my constant resync failures. Every time I opened the app and it didn't reload, I had to stop it and open it to sync back up. Otherwise, spinning icon forever. This update actually resyncs. Feelsgoodman.

Not just candy but stardust too. Don't waste either on anything short of a premium pokemon. In order of most to least important:

A) High IV's. I don't look at anything lower than 90%. 95%+ if it's something where the candy is difficult to get or the evolution takes 125 candy or if the pokemon has the potential to join my A team. I've been sitting on a 91% Growlithe for a month because I'm hoping for something better for an Arcanine to join the A team.

B) Level. A natural level 25 93% IV is worth evolving over a level 12 96% IV. The amount of stardust and candy saved is huge. This can be a bit flexible - I got a level 15 100% Dratini and decided it was worth powering up, it depends on how much spare stardust you have.

C) Availability of the pokemon. The more common the pokemon, the more you can afford to be picky. You have to catch 32 Dratini to evolve a Dragonite. Don't marry yourself to your "strong" one now when you might pick up a better one sometime in the next 31 you catch.
