Level 26, nearly 2000 pokemon's caught/hatched, still have no Lapras and only 1 Dratini and no real good Venasaur or Bell to kill all damn Vapes that are everywhere locally. Gyms are kind of a joke since you can basically brute force anything once you're in your 20s regardless of what's guarding them, but it would be nice to be more efficient at it. I've hatched nearly 400 eggs also!

I think more emphasis needs to be put on being flexible for this part. There is an infinite supply of stardust in the game, and when you get to the lvl 30 softcap you're going to stop leveling a pokemon anyway, or at the very least the only pokemon you would ever consider continuing to power up would have to be a 95%+ with a perfect moveset. God only knows how long it's going to be until Gen 2 hits, so there's no reason not to play the ultra-long game for now until we find out when Gen 2 is coming and how they're going to handle it.

They give you a warning that switching buddies resets your progress, which answers the only remaining question I had about the system.

I kinda want to do the Pikachu buddy so it will jump on my shoulder after 10km.

Snorlax doesn't show on the map when he's your buddy. Anyone know if other pokemon do?

Just found a a lvl 7 Abra that is either 93% or 95% perfect. Too bad it's lvl 7. And an Abra. But I'm holding that sumbitch in the hopes that they redo the CP formula to unfuck pokemon like Alakazam and Machamp. I mean seriously, the CP formula dicking over Primeape and Machamp is why Lapras and Snorlax are such absurdly overpowered gym defenders, because they have no effective counter. A single Low Kick from either Primeape or Machamp one-hit KOs Snorlax or Lapras in the hand-held.

They really need to either redo the CP formula to give a much higher consideration to speed and both attack stats, or they need to drastically boost type bonuses. Like double them at the very least, ideally triple them.

I've hatched 300 eggs now, probably over half of those 5km ones, and I've never seen a Lickitung, Grimer or Abra out of an egg. Never seen a Clefairy either for that matter. Or a Lapras. I've gotten everything else possible out of eggs I think.

Wait what do you mean either 93% or 95%. Can't you narrow it down perfectly using a combination of an IV calculator and what the in-game appraise says? I've never had an ambiguous result since it came out.

It's probably because it's A: a first gen pokemon of an evolution with abnormally low CP and B: very low level. The appraisal tells me that its 80-100% and has perfect stamina.

Although now when I take what I know and plug it into the silph road calculator, and combine that with the poke-assistant calculator that gave me two possibilities, I nail it down to 14/14/15. So in this specific instance the possibilities were just wide enough to require a third analysis.

Found my first Lickitung which turned out to be a "wonder" and then got my first Hitmonchan from an egg right after that. Seems like most people I know burned themselves out, but I just keep it slow and steady.

I found a crappy Lickitumg a few nights ago in my neighborhood. I had no idea he was a problem one to find. Too bad mine is terrible.

So tonight... I hit the fucking jackpot! I live about 45 mins or so by train away from Central Park but I was like fuck it, I'm not going to the gym, it's a bitch getting to decent Brooklyn/Queens parks I haven't done to death farther away by car so I'll just head on over to CP via subway. I chilled for a bit, caught a good amount of pokemon by the SE corner that's always gold and some dudes start yelling Snorlax. I was like no fucking way... I check GoRadar walking quickly to it and bam caught a 2200 CP+ max sta High IV Snorlax with Zen Headbutt and Earthquake! Hung out for a bit longer walking around the park then chilled back at the SE corner. I sit down by General Sherman's statue there and BAM some Asians start Yelling Snorlax other side of the park! I pulled it up, way on the other side of the park bout half mile or so away but it was 14 minutes so I ran/walked it and caught another Really Strong 2200 CP+ Snorlax. Caught a PERFECT IV Kabuto tonight too. Haven't seen any perfects of anything that I know of...

I'm up to 137 on the pokedex. I need more candies for Machamp, Golem and Allakhazam. I'm close on each of them so the buddy system will fill out those 3. After that it's just Lickitung and Lapras.
