Khaleesi is essentially naming your daughter "queen" or whatever it literally translates to from Dothraki. That is straight up idiotic. At least if you called her Daenerys it would be stupid but it would be an actual name, not a title. That's like if I named my son "Mister" or "King" or "Destroyer of Worlds" or something.

Couldn't name my child Peyton after such a famous loser.

Having a newborn is kind of like having an exotic pet. They eat, sleep, and poop. You'll be a master of taking care of that child the moment it arrives, provided you're not dumb, which it seems like you're not. It's a good way to ease into parenting. It's almost like evolution intended for this to be the case.

Just a note on this, I heard a lot of people tell us everything would feel natural. That wasn't the case at all for me and nearly every aspect of parenting I've had to learn from cognitive focus instead of instinct.

That's because you have testicles.

I don't disagree with you, and I really didn't mean to imply that it would be easy. There are things to learn, no doubt, but I think the fear that many people have that they're going to end up killing their child by doing something dumb is unfounded. Unless you're a dumb, you're going to feed the kid, change the diapers, and put him to bed. That's about what you need for the first while.

Fatherly instincts don't kick in until later when you can begin teaching and coaching them on things like walking and crawling and stuff.

Right now you should have some kind a provide vibe going on and keeping your wife happy and supported. At least during the first few weeks and month which I think you're out of now.

I did a paternity photo shoot for some friends of mine. Since I had no idea how to do that kind of shoot I started Googling for examples and was way more entertained with the 'awkward pregnancy photos' and was quickly distracted. I did have a lot of fun sending examples to the Mom-to-be asking "what about this pose?"

My wife is not really prego. I could not resist posting that pic and I figured the thread needed a lighter moment after baby eater Izo posted. Lastly, that is not me...I am much harrier :p
