You guys could all start a single box guild on TAKP if you really wanted.
They'd probably happily give you a spot in the rotations once you got there.
A static play group on a server without a flood of characters at low levels is way more enjoyable than playing with 2000 scrubs, not going to lie. Better than a Dungeons and Dragons campaign, same sort of experience.Pretty sure I maxed out 3 chars on takp years ago.
Frankly I couldn't summon the motivation to play again on Quarm but my wife said she was interested in playing (surprisingly) so I decided to teach her EQ. That gave me the motivation to go through the process of setting everything up for both of us.
Then my buddy decided he wanted to join. Great! He is playing a cleric. Our strategy is to trio the nec/mage/cleric and use the pets as primary tanks, but this dumbfuck rule now has me annoyed as hell that I wasted the time setting everything up.

Whatever. It's not my server so not my rules but I can't emphasize enough how awful and pointless the pet xp drain in a group rule is.

Assuming the code is working as intended, the rule works like this: a SINGLE pet must outdamage EVERY OTHER ENTITY combined to take an exp share. If the mage and necro are tossing in a few nukes then this is unlikely to occur as the higher damage pet would need to out damage the lower damage pet plus the two casters combined to take a share of exp.
That is how EQ worked until mid-Luclin. If Project 1999 does not have this then they're inaccurate.
I mean to be fair 99.9999% of the "challenge" in EQ is finding enough time IRL to log in for XYZ hoursI swear people confuse tediousness with difficulty.
When people say "QoL" I read it as "EZ mode". WTB a server without EZ mode.
Pets taking exp and class exp penalties were there for a reason: because those classes were OP.
as long as neither pet takes the full 50% your fine , so send pets and do one dot/nukePretty sure I maxed out 3 chars on takp years ago.
