I've heard it lets you get a perfect from killing stuff that needs small game arrows with the varmint rifle instead. Even if that's all it did I'd be very happy. Fuckin' rattlesnakes........
Honor system continues to make no goddamn sense at all. Today I have lost honor for:
1. Robbing the O'Driscoll's backroom operation in Valentine. I lost honor for stealing their shit, but not for shooting lawmen who came after me. I also got a bounty (before shooting at the law) even though I was wearing new clothes, a mask, guns I never use normally, and I left my horse way outside town. Ended up reloading my save because there just isn't enough of value to come close to making up for the hassle.
2. Beating up the dude in the saloon wearing the coon hat (random encounter) even though he started it. It wasn't stealing the hat that did it either, I took the honor hit the second he was KO'ed.
3. Dealing with the people at the pig farm.
Dude and his incest-is-best sister killed their parents and have been inviting travelers in for dinner, then they drug/rob/kill and most likely eat them. I got up after the first drink when Arthur started getting drugged and blew them away, lost honor for killing the brother and for looting the sister.
O'Driscoll back room op is definitely worth it. Grab the Schofield Revolver in the box on the table as well as the $50 beside it and haul ass to your horse behind the building. Don't shoot the sheriff and your bounty will only be like $5. Easy money and weapon.

Nah, doesn't do that either (unless it's a rare chance but then what's the point). That was honestly my biggest reason for getting it because I hate having to choose 2/3 hunting weapons.
I hope the talisman is just bugged but I doubt it.
The auto travel with cinematic camera makes the long travel times more enjoyable. You still get the random encounters from strangers but haven’t run into a hostile yet. Still, I wouldn’t afk it as I’m sure you can be attacked by wildlife.
You can unlock some form of fast travel with a camp upgrade. I haven't used it yet myself though so I'm unsure exactly how it works. There's also train-rides and coach travel as well.

So with hunting, how DO you get perfect pelts? I'll be honest I haven't done anything but Main Quest missions, Side missions, helped some white dots on the screen, and play poker and such. I did a stranger quest last night where I received a Lion Paw trophy and turned it into a trinket. I also upgraded by camp so I can fast travel and such, but haven''t done a thing with Satchel upgrades. Once I tried last night after I saw an upgrade I wanted, I went out and hunted and all I was getting were good pelts. I know it has been discussed, I should go back and read it but I am being lazy. I lasso'd the deer, stabbed it, got a good pelt. So I am guessing you get perfect pelts on how to kill something?
Utnayan
First make sure you’re hunting a 3* animal, then make sure you’re using the appropriate weapon, you can check the compendium to see what’s needed, and then basically get a headshot, or using deadeye shoot the vital spot.
NW of Strawberry there is a legendary buck. Just west of there is a river that flows into that little lake. Along that river last night I found three cougars.
In the area around the trapper (again, roughly near the buck) there was another one. Lots and LOTS of hunting in that area. The unicorn looking thing on this map is the buck.
Yeah, Big Valley has a ton of animals that aren't available in the New Hannover area where you start the game. I would recommend taking out the Legendary Buck and probably the Bison which is a bit further north from the mark in the picture while you are still in Chapter 2, as the camp moves east in Chapter 3, and makes dragging some of the stuff you can get from this area a bit more of a pain in the ass.
Off the top of my head, you will run into both Timber/Grey Wolves, Black/Grizzly Bears, Moose, Elk, Beavers and lots of the larger predatory birds in the Big Valley area.
Hah, that's actually been my favorite hunting spot. Quite a variety of animals there. The best part is there's a trapper at the top of the stream coming from the mountains.
