Harmon is awesome for putting Keith David in more stuff. Morty kicking ass was a nice change

But was the entire episode just another parasite memory due to it ending on a technically "positive" note overall with Mr. Poopybutthole sort of teaching a moral lesson to Beth. Clearly someone needs to do a sheet of LSD and write a thesis about this episode, someone must go deeper, humanity depends on this.

One of my friends brought up a good point about this episode that ties back into what I said earlier. We all assumed that Mr.Poopybutthole was a parasite because the whole family was saying he had been around forever and as show watchers we know that's not true. However, the intro showed him in every scene and when he turned out not to be a parasite it makes for a good case that he HAS been around these characters forever. That means in this episode we were not watching the Rick and Morty from dimension C137.

Im not going to nerd out and spend time trying to figure out if they are the original versions but from the layout it seems they are. Even when Jerry's got mixed up and Rick acted like he didnt care it was the right Jerry but he knew it was. I cant see why it would be a different Rick or Morty over the episodes, if that was the case I dont this it would focus on continuity so much

Alternate Ricks have shown they dont care about Morty unlike the Rick C137. Close encounters of the Rick kind points this out. Even season 2 has rick willing to kill himself for that "Morty" unlike every other version

We're getting into some Interstellar shit here. Great fucking show though. I had hoped it had been more improv'd like the Rixty Minutes episode, but still great. I'm sure they just threw out infinity character ideas at like 4am one night and just went, "Fuck it. Let's do it all."

Also Matt Walsh was Sleepy Gary. Awesome. They've been pulling some great comics for this shit. I'm waiting for Louis CK as God in some episode and him just being cynical and uncaring. It would be glorious.

All that shit is about season 1.

The only two actually plausible theories I've seen regarding this episode are:

Mr. Poopybutthole is a real person who was infected. He met Rick and Morty on an adventure and the infection carried over. Then, they took him home because they thought that was the right thing to do, and the infection spread to the rest of the family. Thus giving them memories of him.
He's a parasite, and everything from the porkchop dinner onward is a memory that he is implanting, that is ultimately positive (they shoot him, he survives, gets rehab, forgives them, everyone's happy).

I hate when the first thing people jump to is "zomg maybe its a DIFFERENT RICK AND MORTY". Just don't.
