It's very interesting, I'm happy to let Trump cook here. I'm 100% behind what JD Vance said at the security summit in Germany too.
The UK doesn't have an army and recruitment is done via a notoriously shit outsourcing company that takes years to onboard people, so not too worried. I'll probably end up as a drone operator.
I also keep this in mind from last year:

My position remains:
1) A NATO threat against nuclear armed Russia isn't credible and invading Ukraine actually strengthened NATO. Countries are entitled to choose their own defensive arrangements and historical Russian expansionism makes the desire to join NATO suspicion of Russian speakers reasonable.
2) Russia wanting barriers on the european plain and warm water ports is archaic thinking, Russia is never going to be a naval power given it's geographical location and it's done great fighting off land invasions from the wesr.
3) Regardless of whatever corruption the Bidens did in Ukraine, Russia was playing the same game and it's not enough justification to invade.
That being said:
4) NATO is simultaneously being weakened by the refusal of many members to have effective and funded militaries. Trump is right to call this out and going over the powerless Europeans heads to talk to Russia is hilarious.
5) It's no longer clear if western liberal democracy is better than Putin's facism. There's no point to having a say in theory if all parties have the same policies, ignore the people and deliver broken economies and cultures. JD Vance was right to call this out.
So what do I want to happen?
Give Russia Crimea (lets be honest, they already have it), demilitarise and rebuild the other 4 regions, then have referendum on being part of Ukraine or Russia in ~10 years time. Russia may accept this as they could get Kherson and Zapdos without fighting.
The rump of Ukraine joins the EU and NATO, which Russia won't accept. But there's a conpromise to be made with NATO not stationing certain weapons or having military drills in ex-Soviets while still having them under the nuclear defense umbrella.
I have zero hope for that though. Trump is probably going to go for current front line which will just create another disputed zone like Korea, Palestine or Kashmir.
