It was also said that the coffin that was being driven around Caracas was initially empty. When the car carrying the coffin turned a corner, out of sight of the TV cameras, they switched the coffin with the one containing his body. Don't know if it's true or not...

Especially if they'd been keeping him alive mechanically for however long.
