Got past level 1 in Halls of Torment. Now level 2 is kicking my ass. It does fel a bit more "ARPG" than Vampire Survivors. Need to have pretty good dodge game it feels like.

It's "Bullet Heaven Fest" sale on Steam right now through the 20th.

Vampire Survivors got some sort of story mode, anyone try that yet?

I'm steadily playing through my VS type games and trying to 100% achievement shit.

Some retard at Valve made the tag for these games bullet hell instead of bullet heaven. none of these games are bullet hells.

Anyone found any new ones in that fest that look worth playing? I scoured through it and nothing really jumped out at me that I didn't already own, or they were still like $9 even on sale. You need to have a pretty good bullet heaven game to make me spend that much.

I've been wrapped up in Souls-likes, so haven't been indulging in these lately. I didn't know what you guys were talking about with the sale because I saw nothing up about it, then while looking at a game there was a banner for it at the top. Nothing on the front page, though.

I'll probably buy a few and try 'em out.

Yeah I remember having a good opinion of the demo despite how bare bones it was.

Need to get that one. Really like the art style. While Halls of Torment is cool I don't find it as nice to look at even if it is Diablo 1 nostalgia graphic.

I picked up Symmodance and its not bad for a cheapo. It kind of plays like it looks: you move a platform of tower defense turrets around an arena. It has a wide variety of options but so far it seems like 3 turrets is the max. I haven't felt completely overwhelmed, though. It seems like every time I've died was a mini-boss that got me.

I put 86.3 hours into this game and it still doesn't have a couple of heroes and craftables.

I put 31.9 hours into Nomad Survival, in the end just farming achievements. But worth the money.

Bought Rogue Genesia, Time Wasters, and Brotato in the sale.

I have lots of hours into Vampire Survivors, cleared all the achievements besides the new ones. Played a bit of Halls of Torment but do not really enjoy it as much as VS.

Seeing as the Bullet Heaven sale ends tomorrow and I got 7 bucks in my Steam Wallet. Whats a good pick for a 3rd game. Death must Die and Soulstone Survivors look interesting so far.

Double this. It doesn't seem to get a lot of discussion here but I got more hours and enjoyment out of brotato than all the other survivors games. Death Must Die is fun so far with whats there, but they really only have one level right now. The Hades/Survivors mash up and gear are nice, so they have a solid foundation to build on.

Brotato isn't a vampire survivors game imo. Wave-based action rogue like, no meta upgrades.

Meta upgrades are over rated and usually end up making the game a cake walk by the time you have half of them. I think the genre has grown enough that it doesn't have to follow VS to the T to be considered part of it.

I still think Crafty Survivors is one of the more unique ones.

I put the most hours into Rogue Genesia. So many options, challenges, and the game board progression path had me hooked.
