Yeah, it's awkward having to position yourself perpendicular to incoming enemies while mining. Digger's starting gun is way less awkward.

Gallowspire Survivors released an updated demo, the gameplay seems improved a bit but the game still has basically nothing to do with Pathfinder.

Yeah ive put a couple hours into it too, a lot of fun. Didn't mind the gunner, but im still a hazard 1 pleb. Beat the dreadnaught for the first time after they nerfed hazard 1 yesterday.

Hello Survivors,
Thank you so much for all your feedback and bug reports so far.

We heard a lot of you found difficulty curve of the the beginning of the game a bit too sharp, so we have a small hotfix today that addresses the difficulty level of Haz1. Haz 2-5 remains unchanged for now. Instead of only adjusting numbers, we are also offering what we think is a more elegant solution. We're making the Scout's starting weapon, the Deepcore GK2, have overclocks unlocked from the start. We're also looking to make further adjustments very soon - so stay tuned.

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is made by a small team of developers at Funday Games, and has been out in Early Access for around 26 hours at the time of writing. We plan to balance, tune, improve, adjust and add a ton of extra content in the months and (hopefully) years to come. Please have patience with us as we polish this rock into... a very polished rock.

Changelog Hotfix 0.2.241d
  • Overclocks on Classic Scout starter weapon Deepcore GK2 are now unlocked from the start
  • Reduced enemy HP and damage on Hazard 1 by approximately 10%
  • Reduced audible range of the Supply Pod LZ beeping sound
  • Fixed an error where turret weapons would not always despawn correctly
  • Fixed a UI soft lock where you could get stuck on Biome Select
  • Fixed the header text in the Supply Pod UI screen
  • Fixed a typo in credits
  • Fixed a link to the Wiki page

I used to watch Yogscast back in the day, and love the Wind Rose version of that song, so I googled Gura to see this awesomeness.

Well I did say Vtuber and she's the most popular one in the world. She's really damn funny and has apparently been playing DRG lately (the regular one, not survivors) which led to her recording that. I don't think I've ever actually watched a Vtuber live but Chys got me to watch some clips of one named Lucy Pyre back before she turned into a whore and the great Algorithmo has been periodically peppering me with Vtuber clips ever since.

I guess the 10% nerf is something but immediate overclocks on the scout starter weapon is more of a convenience than anything else because it lets you immediately start focusing on getting a second weapon to 12. Scout rifle overclocks are kinda whatever but I guess its still free +gooder from the beginning.

Kind of a bummer that they fixed the stage five infinite exp farm for maxing out weapons from the demo version

feels like deep rock kinda stalls a bit around level 15. XP slows down so your remaining unlocks are still a ways away but the higher hazard levels still absolutely kick your ass.

I put in some time with God of Weapons last week to distract me from work. It was a cool concept and seems to have potential. Inventory management as part of the game is wasn’t too bad and did require strategy. Found a couple of builds that were sort of trivializing the game and did up to Difficulty IV, I think most classes unlocked. Just haven’t found a huge carrot to go after whether skill unlock, game mode, ultimate combo, etc.

Doesn't help that a solid third of the unlocks make you weaker by polluting the artifact and weapon pools with garbage

Glad they added a button to "salvage" the bad 6/12/18 supercharge rolls that used to fuck up your build by breaking synergy.

At least you can reroll weapons, they'll probably add a reroll for artifacts too

The third scout spec is pretty fantastic. Big chunk of bonus crit chance, bonus crit damage, and whenever you one shot anything your characters fires a small AOE burst. Starts with the M100 so one shots things pretty reliably

The M1000 also has a really solid lvl 18 overclock and on higher difficulties you really need a top tier lvl 18 overclock in either your first or second weapon slot. I think you also really want a 'targets nearest' weapon in either your first or second slot too so that you dont get off to a sluggish start.

Fixed a bug in 'groundzone damage tracking' which would over-report damage numbers by a lot on the end screen damage report (Incendiary Grenade, Sludge Pump, Viper Drones, Neurotoxin Grenade, Overclocked Impact Axe, Overclocked Hurricane, Overclocked Plasma Charger).

This explains some of the absurd damage numbers I've seen but I'm still pretty sure the +3 beam Sludge Pump is the strongest weapon in the game by a country mile even if those numbers were inflated.

gunner finally has a solid class mod at 18, scout's best class mod is also 18 but starter and recon at least aren't bad. Driller's 18 is fucking awful (impact axes suck atm) but the first two class mods are great. The 'only shoots backward' gun the foreman starts with is pretty mediocre but the increased mining speed is incredible. Interrogator's baseline +100% status damage is nutty, especially considering how good the sludge pump already is.

All 3 engineer class mods are ok although I'm not sure about the turret specialist on higher difficulties due to mobility issues. The demolitionist im still on the fence about because of how insanely random grenade placement is and how weak the PGL is at first, but if you can get it rolling it gets pretty insane. unfortunately its also sort of impossible to see the screen once the demolitionist gets going.

I picked up some more of these during the Lunar sale:

Noobs Want to Live - The art style has a Paper Mario 2D type aesthetic to it which is neat, but the music gets old really quick. There's some broken English, but its not bad. The gameplay is okay, you can pick different abilities for different slots and some even combine to form stronger ones. Although to upgrade, sometimes you have to break them again for better attacks. Out of the three, I played this one the least, but I got it cheap.

Hero of Fate - The broken English is more present here, but its nothing that can't be handled. There's actual voiceover lines for the character selects and they're so bad its hilarious. Once I got the hang of this game it became a lot more enjoyable. You earn trophies along the way, and use them to do special fate missions to earn extra goodies. You can unlock other characters and helpers. Out of the three I played this one second most, and it was a decent game for really cheap.

Psionic Awake - the least aesthetically pleasing of the three, but despite that I played it the most. The gameplay was addictive at times. There's a day/night cycle, and you roam the land farming resources and killing baddies. Then when it hits night time, you get a chance to buy some upgrades for your base, and it turns into a swarm defense game. While the characters and art style look pretty retarded, the game itself kept me playing it. I got this one for really cheap, too.

First serious attempt at hazard 5, would need probably 5x the dps to bring down the juggernaut, although having at least one single target weapon might have helped.
