The thing that bothered me was why the dad wasn't experiencing the same time dialation as his daughter. That was dumb. At first I thought he had just jumped on a slower ship.
That was my guess when I watched the episode, but it's not the ships that do the warp travel, it's the gates - apparently the dad just guessed wrong on where the kid was traveling next on a couple steps and racked up significant time dilation until he caught the trail again as a result.

But now that I think about it, once the dad does catch up with the daughter... what the hell happened to everyone else that was on her ship? Was she the only one that survived the missiles?

Also if his daughter spent more time not in transit, they wouldn't be traveling at relativistic speeds for as long a period and therefore the father would have aged slower.

Surprisingly, that actually makes complete sense - time dilation makes time move slower for the traveler, so someone on a faster ship will age less than someone on a slower ship. He also spent a lot more time traveling than the daughter did, because he didn't know where she was, so was moving about looking for her.

I liked the 40k one but none of the rest really impressed me. Couldn't stand the tranny orc paladin or whatever that was supposed to be in the d&d one. And the black dude in 40k seemed weird too. I guess being an 80s British company games workshop never had many Africans in it. Same vibes as the black doctor who. Made it seem less British for some reason.

The 40K one was really good, but from what I remember I enjoyed the Pac-Man one surprisingly. The unreal tournament deal was okay, but there were a few that I just completely skipped over because I didn't know what the game was and it was just something Goofy.

Most of them are at least pretty fun, I like anthology type Cinema, and overall I think it was pretty entertaining.

I guess I am just comparing it too much to love and robots which seemed to have better stories. The animation was really good but some of the stories were just too silly. The Conan groundhog day for instance, was so dumb it wasn't even funny dumb.

Most of them were pretty hit and miss but there or some that really did stand out. Creepy told I could sit and watch an entire season of the Warhammer type stuff versus a live-action film.

It's funny because I remember when Star Wars the Old Republic MMO is coming out, it had such wonderful trailers and animation I think from the blur studio, and a bunch of us said God damn it why can't we get a Star Wars movie that's just computer animated like this.

I guess that's kind of the way I look at all of this stuff. You could really make some amazing Cinema my circumventing idiots that need massive paychecks and funnel that money into people that are actually talented.

Not trying to say all movies need to be on the chopping block but the way computer animated stuff is gone, I can't imagine it's not more easily achievable at a lower cost, and can be just as entertaining.

Hell I remember going and seeing the final fantasy animated film in the theater back I want to say in the early 2000s on the opening night and the damn theater was completely filled. I want to rewatched a clip of that just as a comparison because at the time that was top notch, and Jesus it's night and day compared to this series.

I honestly wonder if AI will get so good people will craft their own stories and replace legacy studios like podcasters are replacing legacy news rooms.

I would imagine that's definitely on the horizon. I mean I've kicked around story ideas and kept things in a journal, and if I could actually take some of those ideas and craft it into what would be a modicum of a screenplay and have some sort of result from it, at least it would entertaining at least to me.

I would imagine maybe in the future as AI gets better that you'll see pitch meetings where somebody is fed their script and prompts into some sort of AI video imager or whatever the hell, and then go show it to a bunch of executives that gets sold and green light funding.

Shit is going to get crazy, that's for sure.

I have the opposite opinion - it'll turn movies/TV into the video game market.

By which I mean if even amateurs can put out a passable product via mass market tools (Unity for games, AI for movies/TV), the the cost of entry for 'real' productions is only going to get more expensive (AAAA games / $100 Million TV shows)

Doubtful. Lawmakers will probably pass vague, shitty laws that will be like DMCA on steroids and meth combined where people can provide scant "evidence" their work was used to train the AI and get the AI produced stuff removed from various platforms. The only people who will be able to use AI to produce works are rich companies which license everything used to train the AI/etc.

Ah, the Warhammer episode was merely good because everyone (Syama included) was working on this?

(I wasn't aware Astartes 1 had been declared canonical, if Games Workshop is putting out Astartes 2.)

He did work on that secret level episode as well, it's in his portfolio reel.
